R59 Million Up for Grabs in Tonight’s Lotto Draw

Tonight’s Lotto and Lotto Plus Draw Offers a Staggering R59 Million Jackpot

The Lotto and Lotto Plus draw is set to take place tonight, with an estimated jackpot of R59 million up for grabs. According to a report by The Citizen, the draw is scheduled to commence at 8:57pm. The total estimated jackpot is divided into three categories: Lotto with a jackpot of R47 million, Lotto Plus 1 with R8 million, and Lotto Plus 2 with R4 million.

In the previous Lotto and Lotto Plus draw, the highest amount won was R162,007.90. This was achieved by a single player who managed to match five correct numbers and the bonus ball. For those interested in participating in tonight’s draw, The Citizen provides a detailed guide on how to play Lotto.

To participate, players can choose the Quick Pick option, where the lottery processing system randomly selects six lucky numbers. Alternatively, players can choose six numbers from 1 to 52 on any board. There is no limit to the number of boards a person can play, and the system also allows for a multi-draw option. This option enables players to play the same numbers over multiple draws.

The cost of playing Lotto is R5 per board, including VAT. Lotto Plus costs an additional R2.50 per board. Players can also use their respective banking apps to place their bets. It is essential to note that ticket sales close at 8:30pm on any given day, just before the lotto draw commences. The Citizen advises that terms and conditions apply.

For those interested in knowing what happens after winning Lotto, The Citizen reports that all winners receive an SMS from their banks containing a reference number and further instructions regarding what documents to take along when visiting the lottery operator, Ithuba. Winners of less than R250,000 will have the money deposited directly into their account if they used a banking app to play. Players who win more than R250,000 will be referred to Ithuba for a payout from the lotto draw winnings.

In addition to Lotto, the national lottery also offers the Daily Lotto, which gives players a chance to win money every day. The draw takes place every evening just after 9:30pm. Tickets for the Daily Lotto can be bought every day until 8:30pm. The Citizen provides a step-by-step guide on how to play Daily Lotto, both in-store and online.

To play Daily Lotto in-store, players need to pick up a betslip, choose five numbers between 1 and 36 or ask for a Quick Pick, and pay for their ticket. Players can also play online by setting up a lottery account, choosing their numbers, and confirming their entry. All players must be 18 years and older to participate in the lotto draw. As reported by The Citizen, winnings are tax-free, and free financial and trauma counselling is offered to those who win more than R50,000.
