Kano Manufacturers Set to Ditch National Grid for 20MW Solar Power Project
In a bid to overcome the unreliable national grid, manufacturers in Kano’s Challawa Industrial Area are set to switch to a dedicated 20 megawatts embedded solar power project. This development follows a new partnership between the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), and Haier Technologies.

The visit was prompted by a directive from Vice President Kashim Shettima in December 2024, which called for urgent power intervention in the area.
