Aberdeen Backing: What Rangers Fans Need to Know

Rangers Issues Crucial Information for Supporters Travelling to Aberdeen Match

As Rangers prepare to face Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday, April 13, the club has released essential information for supporters attending the match at Pittodrie Stadium. According to a statement on the official Rangers website, kick-off is scheduled for 12:00, and supporters are advised to be aware of several key details to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Stadium Details and Security Measures

Rangers supporters will be positioned in the South Stand, with turnstiles opening one hour prior to kick-off. Supporters will be pulsed in, passing through two checkpoints outside the stadium, where tickets will be checked and extensive searches will be carried out. As reported by Rangers, stewards may request that flags or banners be held up to CCTV to confirm their contents. Additionally, Aberdeen has warned that attempts to gain entry without tickets may result in the temporary pause of turnstiles.

In terms of stadium regulations, Rangers notes that no surfing banners are permitted, and flags and banners should be displayed on top of the wheelchair accessible section or on the fencing at Section P. However, any flags or banners covering advertising hoardings may be removed. Both cash and card payments are accepted within the stadium.

Segregation Line and Access Requirements

Rangers also warns that supporters found to be encroaching on the segregation line may be ejected from the stadium. The club advises supporters with specific access requirements to contact [email protected] for assistance as soon as possible.

Supporters’ Coaches and Travel Information

Supporters’ coach parking is available in the Golf Road Car Park, adjacent to the away section, but private cars are not permitted access. Coaches will only be permitted entry to the Golf Road Car Park less than 90 minutes before the match. Police Scotland will be undertaking searches to check for alcohol on supporters’ coaches. Supporters are encouraged to keep up to date with relevant travel information via the Traffic Scotland website.

Rangers Urges Supporters to Maintain Good Behaviour

Rangers has been sanctioned by both the SPFL and UEFA for unacceptable supporter behaviour this season. The club stresses that a repeat of such behaviour could have severe consequences. As quoted in the Rangers statement, "The greatest asset Rangers has is its supporters, and the club will be forever grateful for the loyalty and backing you give at every match, both home and away." However, the club also warns that "the use of pyrotechnics, the throwing of objects, illicit singing and the displaying of discriminatory messages will only continue to damage the reputation of the club."

Pyrotechnics and Ground Regulations

Supporters are reminded that the use of pyrotechnics is illegal within Scottish football stadiums, and any supporter found to be in possession of a pyrotechnic device at any match will be arrested. The club will also be sanctioned for any use of pyrotechnics within a stadium. Face coverings are also prohibited under ground regulations.

The club urges all fair-minded supporters to stand up for what is right and reject any unacceptable behaviour. By working together, Rangers aims to maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere at all matches. As Rangers concludes, "Rangers will play its part by dealing with those responsible in a strong and appropriate manner."
