Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi Makes Surprise Cameo in Robbie Williams’ ‘Rocket’ Video

Black Sabbath Legend Tony Iommi Teams Up with Robbie Williams for High-Octane Rock Track "Rocket"

In a surprise collaboration, Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has made a guest appearance on British pop star Robbie Williams’ upcoming single "Rocket". The track, which is set to feature on Williams’ forthcoming album "Britpop", is a high-energy rock song that boasts a signature guitar solo from the heavy metal pioneer.

According to Blabbermouth.net, the music video for "Rocket" has been released, featuring Robbie Williams wearing a punk-inspired outfit, including red tartan trousers, a heavy chain necklace, and a leather biker jacket covered in graffiti. The video was filmed in various locations across London and Birmingham, with Williams and Iommi sharing scenes together in the latter’s hometown.

The album "Britpop" is set to be released this autumn via Columbia Records in a variety of formats, including CD, deluxe CD, cassette, and digital. Robbie Williams has spoken about the album, stating: "I set out to create the album that I wanted to write and release after I left Take That in 1995. It was the peak of Britpop and a golden age for British music. I’ve worked with some of my heroes on this album; it’s raw, there are more guitars and it’s an album that’s even more upbeat and anthemic than usual. There’s some ‘Brit’ in there and there’s certainly some ‘pop’ too. I’m immensely proud of this as a body of work and I’m excited for fans to hear this album."

As reported by Blabbermouth.net, the album’s cover artwork is a nod to one of Williams’ most iconic looks – his red tracksuit outfit that he wore to attend Glastonbury Festival in 1995. The album will be accompanied by a stadium tour, titled "Britpop", which will see Williams perform in cities across the UK, Ireland, and Europe this summer. The tour will feature the new song "Rocket" played live for the first time.

Robbie Williams previously teased "Rocket" during an interview with NME, stating: "This [song] is massive guitars, as you can imagine. It’s adrenaline-filled and balls to the wall." The song’s collaboration with Tony Iommi marks a significant departure from Williams’ usual pop sound, and is sure to excite fans of both rock and pop music.

It’s worth noting that Tony Iommi and the rest of the original lineup of Black Sabbath – including Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward – will play their final concert this summer. The charity show, dubbed "Back To The Beginning", will be held at Villa Park in Birmingham, United Kingdom on July 5, with support from Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, and many more.

In recent years, Iommi has been open about his health struggles, including his diagnosis with lymphoma in 2011. He has since undergone treatment and has made a successful recovery. Last July, Iommi released a new song called "Deified" in conjunction with his new fragrance, Tony Iommi Deified, from luxury perfume company Xerjoff.

The collaboration between Robbie Williams and Tony Iommi on "Rocket" is a significant one, marking a rare appearance by the Black Sabbath guitarist on a pop track. As Blabbermouth.net reports, the song is set to be a highlight of Williams’ upcoming album "Britpop", and fans of both artists are eagerly anticipating its release.

As the music industry continues to evolve, collaborations between rock and pop artists are becoming increasingly common. The team-up between Robbie Williams and Tony Iommi on "Rocket" is a prime example of this trend, and is sure to generate significant buzz among music fans.
