Robbie Williams Announces BRITPOP Album and Tour
Renowned British singer-songwriter Robbie Williams has announced his highly anticipated new album, BRITPOP, which is set to be released in the autumn. The album, which Williams described as "raw" and "upbeat", features collaborations with some of his musical heroes, including Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi.
According to a press release obtained by Official Charts, Williams said he "set out to create the album that I wanted to write and release after I left Take That in 1995". He added: "It was the peak of Britpop and a golden age for British music. I’ve worked with some of my heroes on this album; it’s raw, there are more guitars and it’s an album that’s even more upbeat and anthemic than usual."
The album’s lead single, "Rocket", was released to coincide with the album announcement and features Tony Iommi on guitar. Williams also revealed that he will be embarking on a BRITPOP tour in 2025, which will see him perform in various cities across the UK. The tour, which was previously titled Robbie Williams Live 2025, has been renamed to reflect the album’s Britpop theme.
