U Cluj Takes on Rapid in Live Match at 18:00 on Digi Sport 1

U Cluj and Rapid End in Stalemate: 2-2 Draw in SuperLiga Play-Off

In a highly anticipated match, U Cluj and Rapid ended in a 2-2 draw on Saturday, May 24, in the 10th round of the SuperLiga play-off. The match, which took place at Cluj Arena, had significant implications for both teams, with U Cluj seeking to secure a podium finish and Rapid looking to avoid finishing last in the top six.

According to Digi Sport, Rapid took the lead in the 36th minute through Borisav Burmaz’s penalty kick. However, U Cluj responded strongly, with Lucas Masoero equalizing in the 39th minute and Cristopher Braun scoring an own goal in the 45+2 minute to give U Cluj a 2-1 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Rapid pushed for an equalizer, and Claudiu Petrila scored a stunning goal in the 74th minute to level the score at 2-2. The draw means that both teams will head into the final round of the play-off with a lot to play for.

U Cluj will be looking to secure a top-three finish, while Rapid will aim to avoid finishing last in the top six. As Digi Sport reports, neither team can move up or down in the standings, but they will be eager to defend their current positions.

The match also sparked a reaction from Daniel Pancu, who believes that Rapid needs to appoint a long-term coach to stabilize the team. As quoted by Digi Sport, Pancu said: “Rapid must find a coach who will stay for at least two seasons. I don’t know anything. Strictly professionally, a team can be prepared by a staff for 10 days.”

Pancu’s comments come after Rapid’s turbulent season, which saw Neil Lennon sacked after six games and Marius Șumudică failing to achieve the team’s objectives.

The current standings in the SuperLiga play-off, as reported by Digi Sport, show that U Cluj and Rapid are locked in a battle for position, with the final round set to determine the final standings.

In related news, the upcoming matches in the SuperLiga play-off will be crucial in determining the final standings. Digi Sport will provide live coverage of the matches, including the Poli Iași – Metaloglobus and Atalanta – Parma games.

The SuperLiga play-off is set to conclude with the final round, and fans can expect an exciting conclusion to the season. Stay tuned for more updates and analysis from Digi Sport.
