In a recent working trip to the Osh region, Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev inspected the progress of major repairs to the Uzgen-Myrza-Ake-Kara-Kulja motorway, a key transportation artery in southern Kyrgyzstan. According to a report by Akchabar, the Prime Minister was briefed on the current status of the work by representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

The Uzgen-Myrza-Ake-Kara-Kulja road, which is undergoing a major overhaul, stretches for 34 kilometres and is being repaired in three stages. As Akchabar reports, the first stage of work is currently underway on a 4.5-kilometre section near the town of Uzgen. This section will be transformed into a four-lane road, complete with pavements, green areas, and irrigation facilities on both sides.

The development of the road infrastructure in the Osh region has received a significant boost, with an additional 4 billion KGS allocated from the Country Stabilisation Fund. According to Akchabar, these funds will be utilised to repair the remaining sections of strategically important roads in the region, including the Uzgen-Myrza-Ake-Kara-Kulja, Osh-Batken-Razzakov, Osh-Kara-Suu, and Nookat-Kyzyl-Kya roads.

The upgrade of the Uzgen-Myrza-Ake-Kara-Kulja road is expected to have a significant impact on the region’s economic development, improving connectivity and facilitating the transportation of goods and services. As Akchabar notes, the project is a key component of the government’s efforts to modernise the country’s transportation network.
