Warm Weekend Ahead: Where Will You Find the Best Weather?

As the UK prepares for a warm and sunny weekend, the question on everyone’s mind is: where will the best of the weather be? According to Your Weather, while the south and southeast are set to bask in sunshine and highs of 25°C, northern regions and Scotland may face rain and blustery conditions.

A warm front will bring heavy rain to Scotland and northern England on Thursday morning, with torrential downpours and a risk of thunder, reports Your Weather. "This rain will ease and become patchy as it clears through the morning, although it will persist across the Northern Isles into the afternoon," states the weather provider. Breezy conditions will follow, with large areas of cloud and occasional light rain. However, sunny intervals will break through, especially across the southeast, where it will feel warm. Daytime highs will reach 23°C in London, 21°C in Birmingham and 19°C in Aberdeen.

In an interview with Your Weather, meteorologists noted that Thursday evening will see drier conditions briefly before rain returns overnight to Scotland, Northern Ireland, and northern England. The night will remain cloudy and mild, with a persistent breeze in the south.

The unsettled midweek weather will give way to a warmer weekend, according to Your Weather. Friday will begin with heavy rain across Scotland, clearing eastwards during the morning. It will then become a brighter and drier day compared to Thursday, with sunny spells and variable cloud. A weak occluded front will bring a band of light rain to the Midlands and Wales during the morning, which will ease as the day progresses. Elsewhere, cloud may thicken to produce occasional patchy rain, mainly in northern and western regions. Southern and eastern areas will enjoy the best of the sunshine, with highs of 18°C in Glasgow, 19°C in Liverpool and 23°C in Norwich.

As the weekend approaches, Your Weather reports that Saturday will start with dry, sunny weather in southern regions, thanks to a ridge of high pressure. However, an approaching low-pressure system will bring a cold front to Northern Ireland and Scotland, delivering heavy rain and strengthening winds. The rain will become showery and patchy in the afternoon, with a risk of thunder. Further south and east, the day will remain dry and warm, with highs of 25°C in London, 22°C in Birmingham and 17°C in Aberdeen.

Saturday night will see the cold front sweep across the UK, bringing fresher air and scattered showers, particularly in northern regions, some of which may be heavy and thundery, according to Your Weather. However, bright intervals will develop between the showers, while southern areas remain largely dry with extended sunny spells. The blustery conditions will contribute to a fresher feel, setting the stage for the start of meteorological summer.
