New Show Topples ‘Sirens’ from Netflix’s Top 10

Netflix Top 10: Ginny and Georgia Season 3 Takes the Top Spot

In a recent update to Netflix’s top 10 list, a new show has taken the top spot, dethroning the popular series Sirens. According to a report by Forbes, Ginny and Georgia season 3 has reached the number one spot on the list, after initially debuting at number 8.

The show’s return to the top 10 list is not surprising, given the long wait for its release. As Forbes notes, "Ginny and Georgia took so long that its young cast members aged and became a meme." The show’s popularity is evident, with Netflix renewing it for seasons 3 and 4 back in May 2023.

Sirens Falls to Number 3

While Ginny and Georgia season 3 has taken the top spot, Sirens has fallen to number 3 on the list. Despite being a miniseries with only five episodes, Sirens had been dominating the Netflix charts for several weeks. As Forbes reports, "it is frankly amazing that Sirens stayed on top that long as just a five-episode miniseries."

The cast of Sirens has expressed openness to a second season, and with its performance on the top 10 list, it’s likely that Netflix is considering renewing the show.

New Shows Make an Impact

In addition to Ginny and Georgia season 3, another new show has made an impact on the top 10 list. Tires has debuted at number 2, while Dept. Q has reached number 4. Dept. Q, a mystery series starring Matthew Goode, has received great reviews from critics, with an 84% Rotten Tomatoes score and a 94% audience score.

As Forbes notes, "Given that this is not pitched as a miniseries, this seems primed to be renewed for a second season even if it did not land #1 placement on the list."

What’s Next

With Ginny and Georgia season 3 now at the top of the Netflix top 10 list, fans of the show can finally see the resolution of the cliffhanger from season 2. As Forbes reports, "Ginny and Georgia may not be a top 10 Netflix hit in the all-time list, but it’s a solid offering from the service that kills a lot of shows after 1-2 seasons."

Fans of Paul Tassi, the author of the Forbes article, can follow him on Twitter, YouTube, Bluesky, and Instagram. He is also the author of several sci-fi novels, including the Herokiller series and The Earthborn Trilogy.
