Clintons Set to Reopen Flagship Store in North East After Major Transformation
A beloved greeting card and gift retailer is poised to reopen a flagship store in the North East after a significant transformation. Clintons, a UK-wide retailer with multiple locations, has announced the grand reopening of its fully refurbished store in the Metrocentre, Gateshead. The store, which is set to reopen on Saturday, June 7, will boast a sleek, modern design and an improved shopping experience.
According to James Taylor, Clintons’ trading director, the company is "incredibly excited to unveil the first Clintons 2.0 store at Metrocentre." In a statement, Taylor explained that the new store design marks an exciting step forward for Clintons, creating a modern and interactive shopping experience for customers. "With a complete overhaul and relaunch of greeting cards, an expanded gifting range, and exclusive product offerings, we believe our customers will love the refreshed store," he said. The retailer will be celebrating the launch with an event featuring free gifts and limited-time offers, including goody bags filled with surprises for the first 250 customers who spend just £1.
The goody bags, which will be given to customers who spend £1 or more, will include a Clintons tote bag, greeting cards, and a Popling plush toy from the brand’s exclusive Poppy & Duckling range. Customers spending over £10 will be given a VIP goody bag worth at least £30. The new store has been designed to provide an improved shopping experience, with updated fixtures and expanded gifting zones. A new card-writing station has also been introduced, allowing visitors to personalise their purchases in-store.
In addition to the new store design, Clintons will also be hosting a number of in-store events and promotions. A Disney Traditions event will take place, with all Disney figurines in-store reduced by 40 per cent or more for a limited time. The store will also host a Stitch figurine giveaway, with an in-store QR code providing the chance to win this collectible. A new celebration-ready party section has also been introduced, fully stocked with helium balloons, banners, and badges.
Gavin Prior, centre director at Metrocentre, welcomed the reopening of the store, saying: "We’re delighted to see Clintons unveil its newly refurbished store in Platinum Mall at Metrocentre. Clintons has long been a favourite with our visitors, and we’re proud to be part of the brand’s evolution, bringing exclusive products and interactive elements to Metrocentre." The retailer has confirmed that the new store design is part of a wider strategy to revamp its stores across the UK.
