Garner Opens Up: Skincare, Fitness, and Defying Time

Jennifer Garner on Aging, Skincare, and Beauty: An Exclusive Interview with Harper’s Bazaar

Actress Jennifer Garner, known for her role in the cult-favorite film 13 Going on 30, seems to be defying the odds of aging. With a consistent workout routine and a dedicated skincare regimen, Garner credits her ethereal glow to her long-standing relationship with Neutrogena, a brand she has worked with for over 17 years.

In an exclusive interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Garner opens up about her perspective on growing older, her skincare routine, and her thoughts on injectables and plastic surgery. The actress, producer, and Once Upon a Farm co-founder shares her honest opinions on beauty, aging, and life.

Garner reveals that she has been using Neutrogena products for most of her life, having grown up with the brand. “I used Neutrogena as a little girl,” she says. “I have two sisters, and we used the beauty bar exclusively in our house. We’d go on vacation, have a little soap box, and we would all use it. Once a year, we’d get Neutrogena’s shampoo and conditioner in our stockings, so it was a really big deal. It was a big fancy brand for us.”

As Harper’s Bazaar reports, Garner has recently turned 53 and feels more confident and at peace with her age. When asked what age she feels like in her head, Garner responds, “I don’t know! Part of me is, like, really 53 because I’ve really earned every minute of every day of every year. I don’t want to be younger. I’m very grateful to be exactly this age. I’m trying to soak it up. I feel like I’m living in my power. I’m living in my wisdom. I’m living in my joy and my capacity to do and get things done. So I’m just very aware of my luck and the grace that’s been shown to me.”

Garner also shares her thoughts on beauty products that have aged well. “Sunscreen ages well,” she says, quoting her dermatologist friend Doris Day. “My dermatologist friend Doris Day says nothing looks better in your 50s than sunscreen in your 20s. And as someone who was not a sunbather in my 20s—I just didn’t have that patience—I luckily did wear sunscreen. I can tell you, the products have only gotten better, every single iteration, every single year, and I’m grateful for them now that I’m in my 50s.”

The actress walks Harper’s Bazaar through her current beauty routine, which includes washing her face with Neutrogena Makeup Remover wipes and using the Rapid Wrinkle Repair retinol system and Hydro Boost hyaluronic-acid system. Garner also swears by Virtue hair products, including the Flourish hair-regrowth collection and the 6-in-1 styler.

When it comes to injectables and plastic surgery, Garner remains neutral. “I don’t judge whatever makes anyone look or feel their best,” she says. “I haven’t needed it yet, but I can’t say that I haven’t said to doctors before, ‘Do I need to do this?’ And I’ve had really nice doctors who have just been like, ‘No.’ So, God only knows 10 years from now what the conversation will be. I’m not there yet.”

Garner concludes the interview with Harper’s Bazaar by sharing what keeps her feeling vibrant and youthful. “Working out with people who are younger and more fit than I am,” she laughs.

The interview with Harper’s Bazaar provides an insightful look into Jennifer Garner’s life, sharing her honest opinions on beauty, aging, and life. With her consistent skincare routine and dedication to her well-being, it’s clear that Garner is aging gracefully and confidently.
