Ginny & Georgia Season 4: What to Expect from the Upcoming Instalment
Fans of the hit Netflix drama Ginny & Georgia can breathe a sigh of relief as the show has been renewed for a fourth season. According to a report from Netflix’s Tudum, the beloved series will continue with Georgia (Brianne Howey), Ginny (Antonia Gentry), and the rest of Wellsbury’s finest returning for more.
The creator of the show, Sarah Lampert, has confirmed to Tudum that Georgia is pregnant, but the identity of the father remains a mystery. As Tudum reports, "It’s complicated," says Howey. The finale of Season 3 ended with a cliffhanger, showing Georgia’s family driving past her home in Wellsbury, which could have significant implications for the upcoming season.
The Theme of Season 4: Cycles and Origins
Lampert and showrunner Sarah Glinski have revealed that the theme of Season 4 will be "Cycles and Origins." Tudum quotes Howey as saying that she is looking forward to fans meeting Georgia’s family on screen and learning more about her roots. "Sarah has some incredible things planned, and I can’t wait to see more about the circumstances that shaped Georgia," she tells Tudum.
The dynamic between Georgia and her two children, Ginny and Austin (Diesel La Torraca), has been forever changed in Season 3. Tudum reports that Georgia will have to reckon with how her own behaviour influenced Austin’s decision to frame his dad, Gil (Aaron Ashmore), for the murder Georgia committed. "Once Georgia realises how her kids manipulated this situation, it’s quite sobering," says Howey.
Ginny’s Character Development
As Tudum notes, Ginny is "fully turning into Georgia by the end of the season." Gentry says that going into Season 4, "that is a brand-new character aspect that we haven’t seen before." She ends the season heading into the summer more connected to her dad Zion (Nathan Mitchell) than ever, since he’s filing for joint custody, and they’re taking a trip to Korea together.
What’s Next for Georgia
Howey hopes that Georgia will continue to push herself in Season 4 and really go outside of her comfort zone, now that she’s willing to start therapy. Tudum quotes her as saying, "There is a glimmer of hope at the end of Season 3. It starts small, but it’s starting, so I think it’s possible."
Fans of Ginny & Georgia will have to wait for more updates on Season 4, but in the meantime, they can relive the wild ride of Seasons 1-3 now, only on Netflix, as Tudum reports.
