Williams Show Sparks Travel Chaos in Bath


Robbie Williams Concert to Cause Road and Rail Disruption in Bath

This Friday and Saturday, June 13 and 14, the city of Bath will host Robbie Williams’ highly anticipated concert at the Royal Crescent stage. The event, which is part of his tour, will see the former Take That member perform to a sold-out crowd. According to The Wiltshire Times, the concert will start at 8:30pm and end at 10:20pm, with a curfew at 10:30pm.

As a result of the concert, several road closures will be in place in Bath from the early hours of Friday morning. The affected roads include Marlborough Buildings junction with Weston Road, Marlborough Buildings junction with Cow Lane, The Royal Crescent junction with Brook Street, Royal Avenue junction with Marlborough Lane, Marlborough Lane junction with Upper Bristol Road, Royal Avenue junction with Queens Parade, Royal Victoria Park Drive, and Charlotte Street. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow plenty of time to avoid congestion.

The concert is expected to draw a large crowd, and The Wiltshire Times reports that trains into Bath on Friday and Saturday afternoons will be busy. Great Western Railway (GWR) has announced that it will operate additional services to accommodate concert-goers. If possible, travellers are advised to consider travelling earlier in the day to avoid peak hours and take advantage of quieter and cheaper trains.

GWR has provided a list of services that will operate on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, June 13, trains towards Bristol will depart from Bath Spa at 10:25pm, 10:38pm, 11:23pm, 11:29pm, 11:53pm, 12:02am, and 1:01am. Trains towards Chippenham and Swindon will depart at 10:55pm, while trains towards Westbury will depart at 10:41pm, 11:24pm, and 12:04am.

On Saturday, June 14, trains towards Bristol will depart from Bath Spa at 10:40pm, 10:51pm, 10:55pm, 11:20pm, 11:51pm, and 1:30am. Trains towards Swindon will depart at 10:45pm and 11:44pm, while trains towards Westbury will depart at 10:33pm and 11:24pm.

In a statement, GWR warned that with other major events taking place in the city on Saturday, including the Bath University Open Day and Bath Races, travellers should plan ahead and allow plenty of time for their journeys. Passengers can check their train journeys on the GWR website at https://www.gwr.com/.

As reported by The Wiltshire Times, the concert is expected to draw a large crowd, and authorities are urging travellers to be prepared for disruption. By planning ahead and checking train times, concert-goers can ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.

The concert is part of Robbie Williams’ tour, which will see him perform in various cities across Europe, including Ireland, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, and Sweden.
