Bath Residents Eager for Robbie Williams Concert

Robbie Williams Set to Perform in Bath’s Historic Royal Crescent

Residents of Bath’s famous Royal Crescent are excited to host pop star Robbie Williams for two live concerts this weekend. The events, which are sold out, will see 30,000 people attend over two nights, with a large stage erected in front of the historic row of homes.

According to the BBC, local resident Michelle Maguire is thrilled to have the concerts in her backyard. “It’s got that whole community vibe going on here … it feels like a bit of a privilege,” she said. “I’ve never lived anywhere where this kind of thing has ever happened before.”

The concerts, which are part of Robbie Williams’ Brit Pop European tour, have been two and a half years in the making. Colin Clarkson-Short, from the Royal Crescent Society, told the BBC that the residents, along with Bath and North East Somerset Council and promoter Senbla, have worked tirelessly to bring the events to fruition. “It’s the result of two and a half years of planning,” he said. “We knew the name for well over a year and couldn’t tell anyone who it was.”

Robbie Williams, who first rose to fame with Take That, will be performing in Bath before continuing his tour in Copenhagen. The concerts will see him join other notable performers who have taken to the stage in the Royal Crescent, including The Three Tenors and Michael Buble.

Residents are excited to have the concerts in their community, with Michelle Maguire telling the BBC that she first saw Robbie Williams 30 years ago and will be attending the concert with her 39-year-old daughter. “She’s super excited and she’s arriving on Saturday,” she said.

The events have required careful planning, with a focus on minimizing disruption to the local community. The stage and speakers have been chosen to avoid disturbing neighbours in nearby streets. However, with unpredictable weather forecast, there are concerns about the event’s impact on the green space. Promoters Senbla have assured that the area is well-drained and the prolonged dry weather has helped, but the situation will be constantly monitored.

In terms of logistics, attendees are being advised to use public transport or the city’s park and ride to attend the concerts. There is a strict no umbrella policy within the site, and people are being urged to bring waterproof clothing instead.

As reported by the BBC, residents such as Michelle, Yve, and Inma are thrilled to have the concerts outside their front doors. The events are expected to bring a significant boost to the local economy, with many attendees likely to visit the city’s shops, restaurants, and attractions.

Overall, the concerts are set to be a unique and exciting experience for both the residents of Royal Crescent and the wider community. With careful planning and attention to detail, the events are expected to run smoothly, despite the unpredictable weather.

The concerts are a testament to the enduring popularity of Robbie Williams, who has been entertaining audiences for decades. As the BBC reports, the events are a significant coup for the Royal Crescent, which has become a popular venue for live music performances in recent years.

The Royal Crescent concerts are just one example of the many exciting events happening in Bath and North East Somerset. With its rich cultural heritage and stunning natural beauty, the area is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike.

As the concerts approach, residents and attendees alike are eagerly anticipating a weekend of live music and entertainment in one of Bath’s most iconic locations.
