Chelsea FC Set to Compete in FIFA Club World Cup 2025
Chelsea Football Club’s players have departed for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, with 24 players flying out to Philadelphia this afternoon and another four meeting the rest of the squad in the US. According to Chelsea FC’s official website, the team will be based in Philadelphia for the group stages of the Club World Cup.
The Blues will play their opening match against LAFC on Monday at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, followed by fixtures versus Flamengo (Friday 20 June) and ES Tunis (Wednesday 25 June) at Lincoln Financial Field. As reported by Chelsea FC, the majority of the players and staff will be flying out this afternoon, while four South American players – Aaron Anselmino, Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, and Andrey Santos – will join the rest of the squad in the US.
The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 features 32 teams, bringing together the most successful club sides from each of the six international confederations. Chelsea’s qualification for the tournament came courtesy of their Champions League win in 2021. The teams are split into eight groups, with the top two progressing to the round of 16.
