The French publication reports that Duplantis was overjoyed after his record-breaking jump, exclaiming that it would be "one of the greatest memories of my career." Meanwhile, Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia won the 100m dash in 10.75 seconds, just 0.03 seconds off her personal best. Australian Nicola Olyslagers, the Olympic silver medalist, achieved her best performance of the season with a high jump of 2.01m, edging out Olympic champion Yaroslava Mahuchikh.
As noted by Le Figaro, Renaud Lavillenie, the former French record holder, was impressed by Duplantis’ performance, commenting that "there was hardly any error, and it all went perfectly on the first attempt. It’s incredible that everything went smoothly."
