A journalist from RBC News Ukraine recently had the opportunity to visit the training camp of Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk as he prepares for his highly anticipated rematch with Daniel Dubois for the title of undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. What they witnessed was a truly unique and scientifically-backed training routine, designed by Usyk’s Polish fitness coach, Jakub Chycki.
Focus on Rate
According to RBC News Ukraine, Usyk’s training regimen is centred around explosive and dynamic movements. He doesn’t just lift weights – he does it fast and explosively. Every exercise is highly dynamic, involving jumps, rapid presses, and powerful kettlebell swings. Non-Conventional Training Tools
Usyk’s training equipment is far from conventional. Instead of standard dumbbells or gym machines, he often uses gear that is rarely seen at a typical gym, such as kettlebells, gymnastic rings, and resistance bands.
