Napoli Cool on Duran Deal Amidst Hefty Price Tag Reports

Serie A giants Napoli are not considering a move for Al-Nassr striker Jhon Duran due to the high costs involved, according to Football Italia.

The suggestion emerged earlier today that Fenerbahce and Napoli were pushing to sign the former Aston Villa centre-forward this summer. However, while the player is admired by these clubs, and few can argue with that, the fact remains the cost of the operation makes it completely untenable.

Duran has an outlandish price tag

Al-Nassr just paid €77m plus bonuses to buy the Colombia international from Aston Villa barely six months ago and that included a contract worth €10m per season plus add-ons. That makes it extraordinarily difficult for any club to make that move, so Napoli are looking at very different targets to Duran.

According to Football Italia, the centre-forward is only 21 years of age and has three goals in 16 senior caps for Colombia. He earned the move to the Saudi Pro League thanks to 12 goals in 29 competitive appearances for Aston Villa this season.

As per the source, the Italian club is not willing to meet Al-Nassr’s valuation of the player, and therefore, they are not in the running to sign him.

Napoli are not the only club to miss out on Duran, several other top clubs are also not interested in meeting his valuation. The Colombia international’s price tag is a major deterrent for potential suitors.

The news from Football Italia will come as a blow to fans of Napoli who had hoped their club would make a move for the highly-rated young striker. However, it seems that Napoli are focused on other targets and are not willing to break the bank to sign Duran.

In related news, several top clubs are said to be monitoring Duran’s situation, and it will be interesting to see if any of them make a move for him in the future.

For now, though, it seems that Duran will remain at Al-Nassr, and Napoli will have to look elsewhere for their next signing.

The report from Football Italia also mentioned that Duran has a long-term contract with Al-Nassr, which will make it even harder for any club to sign him in the future.

The Italian news outlet concluded that Duran’s valuation is a major obstacle for any club looking to sign him, and it remains to be seen if any club will make a move for him in the future.

The news was broken by Football Italia, a reputable source for Italian football news.
