Investigation Underway into Suspected Gas Explosion in East London

A suspected gas explosion at a house in east London has prompted an investigation by police. The incident occurred on Dumont Road, Stoke Newington, shortly before 05:00 BST. According to reports from the BBC, six fire engines and approximately 40 firefighters from the London Fire Brigade (LFB) were dispatched to the scene.

The BBC understands that Stoke Newington Church Street has been closed from the junction of the A10 to Defoe Road, and Kersley Road has been completely closed. The Metropolitan Police has been contacted for comment on the incident.
