Monterrey-Inter, Chivu si conferma con il 3-5-2

Inter Set to Revert to 3-5-2 Formation Against Monterrey

In a move that is likely to excite fans, Inter are set to revert to their favoured 3-5-2 formation in their upcoming match against Monterrey, according to reports from Gazzetta.it. The Italian publication claims that coach Cristian Chivu is set to stick with the formation that has been the team’s “bread and butter” in recent years.

Gazzetta.it reports that Chivu has been considering his options, but it seems that Asllani is set to start in midfield, potentially at the expense of Calha. The Romanian coach had been evaluating the fitness of Marcus Thuram, but it appears that the French striker may have to start on the bench. This could pave the way for Sebastiano Esposito, who has just been relegated with Empoli, to start alongside Lautaro Martinez.

The 22-year-old Esposito has been impressing in training, and Gazzetta.it claims that he has already been tried out in attack alongside the Thuram and Lautaro duo. With Mehdi Taremi currently on international duty with Iran, Chivu may see this as an opportunity to give Esposito a chance to shine. The Iranian striker is reportedly in good health, but the Inter coaching staff are in daily contact with him as he prepares for the new season.

According to Gazzetta.it, Chivu’s decision to start with the 3-5-2 formation is a “conservative” one, but it is a tactic that has served Inter well in the past. The Romanian coach has been keen to stick with what he knows works, and it seems that he will be giving his players a chance to gel in this formation before making any major changes.

The news will come as a boost to Inter fans, who have been eagerly awaiting the start of the new season. With a number of new signings coming in, including Taremi and Thuram, there is a sense of excitement around the club. Gazzetta.it claims that Chivu is keen to give his players a chance to settle in, and starting with the 3-5-2 formation is seen as a way of doing just that.

As the team prepares to take on Monterrey, Gazzetta.it reports that Chivu is still having to deal with a number of injury concerns. Pio Esposito, Sebastiano’s brother, is currently out with an injury and will not be available for selection. However, with Sebastiano Esposito pushing for a start, it could be an exciting time for the Esposito family as they look to make their mark on the new season.

The match against Monterrey is set to be an important one for Inter, as they look to build on their pre-season preparations. With Gazzetta.it reporting that Chivu is set to stick with the 3-5-2 formation, fans will be eagerly anticipating the start of the match to see how the team shapes up. (“The Romanian coach wanted to assess the fitness of Marcus Thuram: the Frenchman is one of the last arrivals and, having had problems at the end of the season, may now start with more calmness compared to his Argentine twin.”)
