Yellowjackets Sets Sights on 2025 Emmys with 19 Actor Submissions
In a bold move, the Showtime drama Yellowjackets is set to make a significant impact at the 2025 Emmys, with 19 different actors being submitted for consideration. According to a report from Gold Derby, the show’s third season will see a strong lineup of talented performers vying for recognition in various categories.
At the forefront of the submissions is Melanie Lynskey, who has earned Emmy nominations for her portrayal of Shauna Sadecki in the show’s first two seasons. Lynskey will once again be submitted in the Best Drama Actress category, where she will be joined by Sophie Nélisse, who plays the cannibalistic teen Shauna in the wilderness, and Tawny Cypress, who takes on split personalities as adult Taissa Turner.
The rest of the Yellowjackets squad will compete in the crowded Best Supporting Actress field, including Jasmin Savoy Brown as teen Taissa, Sophie Thatcher as teen Natalie Scatorccio, Samantha Hanratty as teen Misty Quigley, Courtney Eaton as teen Lottie Matthews, Lauren Ambrose as Van Palmer, and Christina Ricci, who was Emmy-nominated for Season 1, as adult Misty. Gold Derby reports that two non-Yellowjackets actors will also be submitted in the Best Supporting Actress category: Sarah Desjardins as Shauna’s daughter, Callie Sadecki, and Ashley Sutton, who plays unlucky frog scientist Hannah Sophia Finch.
In the Best Supporting Actor category, Steven Krueger, who was tortured, put on trial for attempted murder, and ultimately roasted as Coach Ben Scott, will be submitted. Also on the ballot are Warren Kole as Shauna’s husband, Jeff Sadecki; Kevin Alves as Travis Martinez; and Elijah Wood as Walter Tattersall.
Gold Derby also reports that two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank, who plays Shauna’s ex-girlfriend Melissa, Joel McHale as wilderness guide Kodiak, Simone Kessell as adult Lottie, and Ella Purnell, the deceased teammate who continues to haunt the Yellowjackets, will be the show’s four guest submissions.
It’s worth noting that these are just Showtime’s submissions, and there’s a possibility that more performers from the show may appear on the ballot as anyone can submit on their own. Since premiering in 2021, Yellowjackets has received 10 Emmy nominations, including Best Drama Series for its first two seasons and acting bids for Lynskey and Ricci.
As reported by Gold Derby, the acting submissions for Yellowjackets are as follows:
- Drama Actress: Melanie Lynskey, Sophie Nélisse, Tawny Cypress
- Drama Supporting Actor: Steven Krueger, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Elijah Wood
- Drama Supporting Actress: Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Christina Ricci, Samantha Hanratty, Simone Kessell, Courtney Eaton, Sarah Desjardins, Lauren Ambrose, Ashley Sutton
