WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY successfully defended her title against Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair in a thrilling Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania 41 Sunday, held at the Allegiant Stadium. According to WWE’s official website, the match was an instant classic, with all three competitors delivering jaw-dropping moves.
Ripley and Belair initially worked together to eliminate SKY from the equation, but the champion managed to counter an Avalanche Riptide with a boot from Ripley. SKY then countered an Over the Moonsault, but she was caught with a K.O.D. from Belair, who kicked out. In a stunning turn of events, Ripley obliterated SKY with a reverse Alabama Slam onto the top ring post, but SKY somehow managed to recover.
Belair then went for a K.O.D. on Ripley, but The Eradicator countered into a Riptide. Seconds later, SKY soared with an Over the Moonsault to break up the cover and pinned Belair to retain the title, as reported by WWE.
Drew McIntyre Defeats Damian Priest in Sin City Street Fight
In another match, Drew McIntyre defeated Damian Priest in a Sin City Street Fight. The match was presented by Doom: The Dark Ages and featured a variety of weapons, including ring steps, tables, steel chairs, and more. McIntyre and Priest wasted little time bringing out the smorgasbord of weapons, with McIntyre eventually draping a steel chair over Priest’s head and aiming for a Claymore Kick.
However, Priest hit a South of Heaven Chokeslam that resulted in a long two-count. McIntyre continued to fight, with Priest driving him through an announce table with a Razor’s Edge. The Scottish Warrior then followed with a Claymore on Priest, who had a steel chair placed behind his head in the corner of the ring, as seen on WWE’s website.
Dominik Mysterio Wins Intercontinental Championship
Dominik Mysterio won the Intercontinental Championship by defeating Bron Breakker, Penta, and Finn Bálor in a Fatal 4-Way Match. The match started with a bang as all four competitors clobbered each other with dives and pounces.
As reported by WWE, Mysterio struck Bálor from behind and geared up for the 619, but The Prince stopped Mysterio in his tracks and stomped him into the mat. Carlito stopped Penta from pinning Mysterio, but as he prepared to deliver a move to Penta on the announce table, Breakker launched himself from the other announce table with a breathtaking Spear that sent Carlito crashing through the hardwood.
Randy Orton Defeats Joe Hendry
Randy Orton defeated TNA World Champion Joe Hendry after delivering an RKO. Orton had been adamant about competing in his 20th WrestleMania match after his original opponent Kevin Owens was deemed unable to participate due to injury. Hendry answered the call, sending the WWE Universe into a frenzy.
As reported on WWE’s website, Hendry went for a Chokeslam, but Orton poked him in the eye. As Hendry went for his signature pose, Orton struck out of nowhere with an RKO to win the match.
Logan Paul Defeats AJ Styles
Logan Paul defeated AJ Styles after hitting the One Lucky Punch and a Paulverizer. The match was presented by The General Insurance and featured a dramatic, hard-hitting brawl. Early in the bout, Styles used the side of the ring apron to tie up Paul and disorient him.
Paul mocked Styles, using his drone to mug at the camera before using the ring apron to tie up Styles. Styles went for a Phenomenal Forearm, but Paul stopped him in his tracks by hitting a rolling senton and a moonsault, according to WWE.
Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria & Becky Lynch Defeat Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez
Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch defeated Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title. Lynch made her shocking return on Sunday, igniting the WWE Universe into a roar.
As seen on WWE’s website, Morgan and Rodriguez used precise tag team chemistry to isolate Valkyria from Lynch. Lynch trapped Morgan in the Dis-arm-her, but Rodriguez broke up the submission. Lynch then struck with the Man-handle Slam on Morgan to win the title with Valkyria, who became a double champion.
John Cena Defeats Cody Rhodes to Win Undisputed WWE Championship
In the main event, John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes to win his 17th world title and become the Undisputed WWE Champion. Cena hit four Attitude Adjustments, including one from the top rope, but Rhodes somehow kept fighting.
As reported by WWE, Travis Scott suddenly arrived, and after briefly distracting Rhodes, he yanked the referee out of the ring following a Cross Rhodes on Cena. Rhodes beckoned Scott in the ring and nailed him with the Cross Rhodes. With the referee down, Cena and Rhodes got into a tug-of-war with the championship, which Cena eventually won.
Cena then ruthlessly kicked Rhodes below the belt before blasting him in the face and pinning him to win the match, as confirmed by WWE’s official website.
