SZA’s ‘SOS’ Album Breaks Adele’s Record for Most Weeks in Top 10
SZA’s award-winning sophomore album, ‘SOS’, has achieved yet another remarkable milestone. According to reports from ECR, the album has spent an impressive 85th non-consecutive week in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart.
Released in December 2022, ‘SOS’ has surpassed the record previously held by Adele’s ’21’ album for most weeks in the top 10 by a female artist. Adele had held this record since January 2016. The album’s success can be attributed to its consistent popularity, as well as the release of ‘SOS Deluxe: LANA’ in January, which featured four new songs.
As ECR reports, fans have been praising the deluxe album, with one fan stating, "What I love about this deluxe album ‘LANA’ is how she carried themes spoken in ‘SOS’, but from a lighter and mature point of view." The fan went on to describe the album as a "masterpiece" and highlighted several standout tracks, including ‘Crybaby’, ‘Another Life’, and ‘DTM’.
SZA is currently on tour with Kendrick Lamar, who also has an album in the top 10 of the US album charts. His latest album, ‘GNX’, is currently at #5, one place behind ‘SOS’. The pair is also making waves on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with their smash hit ‘Luther’ spending its ninth consecutive week at the top of the chart.
As quoted in ECR, ‘Luther’ has managed to fend off competition from Drake’s new song, ‘Nokia’, which drops to #3 after peaking at #2 last week. Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga’s ‘Die with a Smile’ returned to the #2 spot. The song’s success has also been reflected in the ECR Top 40 with Styles, where it is currently in the #6 position.
Fans can tune in to the ECR Top 40 with Styles every Saturday morning from 10 am to 2 pm to stay up-to-date with the latest chart-topping tunes. As ECR notes, "Don’t miss out on the latest celeb gossip, the hottest news right now, and 40 chart-topping tunes each week!"
