CDL Major III Heats Up: Elimination Round Begins Friday

CDL Major III Moves into Weekend with First Found Eliminations Starting Friday

The highly anticipated Call of Duty League (CDL) Major III is currently underway in Boca Raton, Florida, with top teams competing for a share of the prize pool and crucial CDL points. According to a report from KGNs TV, the Miami Heretics are hosting the event, which has seen some thrilling matches so far.

The first round of winners concluded on Thursday evening, with some dominant performances from top teams. The Los Angeles Thieves and Boston Breach emerged unscathed, sweeping their opponents 3-0. The Thieves defeated the Carolina Royal Ravens, while the Breach took down OpTic Texas. As KGNs TV reports, "The two teams that emerged unscathed from their first matches of Major III are the Los Angeles Thieves and the Boston Breach."

The other two teams that advanced to the second round of the winner’s bracket are the Miami Heretics and the Vancouver Surge. The Heretics defeated the Toronto Ultra, while the Surge took down the Atlanta FaZe. As noted by KGNs TV, "Getting into the winners round two means receiving the luxury of skipping playing on Friday."

However, not all teams were as fortunate. Several teams will have to fight for survival in the elimination round one on Friday. The schedule for the day includes:

  • Atlanta FaZe vs. Cloud9 New York: 1:30 PM EST / 12:30 PM CST / 10:30 AM PST
  • OpTic Texas vs. Vegas Falcons: 3 PM EST / 2 PM CST / 12 PM PST
  • Toronto Ultra vs. Los Angeles Guerrillas M8: 4:30 PM EST / 3:30 PM CST / 1:30 PM PST
  • Carolina Royal Ravens vs. Minnesota RØKKR: 6 PM EST / 5 PM CST / 3 PM PST
  • (Winner of OpTic v. Falcons) vs. (Winner of FaZe v. Cloud9): 7:30 PM EST / 6:30 PM CST / 4:30 PM PST

As KGNs TV notes, "Today’s first match is a relatively simple storyline. Will the Atlanta FaZe, the winners of Major II, bounce back after a subpar run in qualifiers and a tough round one loss, or will Cloud9 New York pounce on a vulnerable powerhouse?"

The article from KGNs TV also highlights the struggles of OpTic Texas, who will take on the Vegas Falcons in Friday’s second match. The Falcons recently broke their 22-match losing streak by defeating OpTic Texas in the qualifiers. As KGNs TV reports, "OpTic has been on the struggle bus since they stepped on the stage at Major I. They haven’t made it past the second round of the elimination bracket so far this season."

The rest of the matches on Friday promise to be just as exciting, with the Toronto Ultra taking on the Los Angeles Guerrillas M8 and the Carolina Royal Ravens facing off against the Minnesota RØKKR. The final match of the day will feature the winner of OpTic and the Falcons against the winner of FaZe and Cloud9.

Fans can catch all the action live on the official CDL YouTube Channel, which will stream every CDL matchup throughout the weekend and the season. Coverage will start 30 minutes before the first match of each day. As KGNs TV notes, "Don’t miss any of the action on the journey to see who takes home the 2025 CDL Major III trophy."
