Pete Wicks Sparks Romance Rumours with Strictly Co-Star Tasha Ghouri
Pete Wicks, the 37-year-old Towie legend, has sparked romance rumours with one of his Strictly Come Dancing co-stars, Tasha Ghouri, after they were spotted on a dinner date. The pair, who became friends during their time on the show last year, were seen enjoying an evening out together, leaving fans convinced that a new romance may be blossoming.
According to The Sun, Pete and Tasha, who are both single after recent splits, have struck up a friendship during their time on Strictly Come Dancing. The pair were seen looking cosy as they dined out with fellow Strictly star, Jamie Borthwick. Fans took to social media to discuss the snap, with one saying: "Tasha and Pete, I’ve always kinda thought something since Strictly." Another added: "Ya I’ve thought so too, and I think Maura did as well."
Pete and his ex-girlfriend, Maura Higgins, 34, were friends for years before they started dating while he danced on Strictly and she appeared on I’m A Celeb. However, following their split, Maura made a savage jibe about Pete "cheating" as she left a restaurant on Valentine’s weekend. The Sun on Sunday revealed Maura was filmed saying: “I don’t know, probably cheating” when asked where Pete was. She later sent herself red roses with a card reading: “To Me, Love Me.”
Recently, Pete took a swipe at Maura after she was pictured sharing a drunken kiss with married pal Danny Jones at the Brits Universal after-party. On his podcast Staying Relevant, which he hosts with best mate Sam Thompson, Pete told listeners: “A LOT happened at the BRITs, but we’re going to MOVE on from that and tell you about our BRITs experience. We then went to the Universal afterparty. NOTHING happened there for us, we had a great time at the Universal afterparty, we stayed there a little bit, had a little f** few drinks.”
Sam quipped: “We did it RIGHT,” as Pete chimed in: “No no, it’s not that other people did it wrong. No No No!” Sam went on: “I meant at these parties, you don’t want to linger for too long. We got there a little bit early, got there before the crash happens, had a few drinks, spoke to loads of people and left at about 1am, which is the perfect time before everything gets a bit messy.”
Tasha, who recently split from her boyfriend Andrew LePage, has been moving on from her split. A source said at the time: “Tasha was madly in love with Andrew but the cracks started to show when she appeared on Strictly. She gave her all in that competition. Her focus was purely on her dances with Aljaz and that drove a wedge between them as time went by. Now she’s going off on tour she’s going to be away from Andrew again. They talked about ending their relationship at the start of January and she’s heading out on the Strictly tour as a single woman.”
The rumoured romance between Pete and Tasha comes after the pair were spotted having dinner out together. According to The Sun , a friend close to Tasha confirmed the pair had “hit a rocky patch” and said they had broken up.
It seems Pete is moving on quickly after his split from Maura. As reported by The Sun, Maura and Danny were seen looking close at 3am and stayed at a hotel until 6am sharing wine. Danny later released a statement on social media apologising to his family.
