CMF by Nothing Unveils New Smartphone and Earbuds Lineup
In a recent announcement, CMF by Nothing, a sub-brand of the popular technology company, revealed a slew of new products, including a refreshed flagship smartphone and a range of earbuds. The CMF Phone Pro 2 and earbuds are set to hit the market on May 6, with pre-orders opening today.
According to Engadget, the CMF Phone Pro 2 boasts an impressive array of features, including a 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and a powerful sixth-generation MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro 5G processor. This processor includes an 8-core CPU that can run clock speeds up to 2.5GHz, allowing for a significant boost in both processing and graphics capabilities compared to its predecessor, the CMF Phone 1.
The CMF Phone Pro 2 is also remarkably thin and light, measuring just 7.8mm in thickness and weighing 6.5 ounces. While not the lightest phone on the market – that title belongs to the iPhone 16, which weighs in at six ounces – it is still an impressive feat of engineering. The phone’s battery life is also said to be robust, with the company claiming it can last two full days on a single charge.
In terms of camera capabilities, the CMF Phone Pro 2 features a four-camera setup, complete with a 50MP main camera, telephoto lens, ultra-wide lens, and front-facing selfie camera. One of the standout features of the camera array is its modular design, which allows users to attach a fisheye and macro lens.
The CMF Phone Pro 2 will be available in four colours, each with unique design elements. The black and light green models feature a back that mimics frosted glass and is bordered with a metallic frame, while the orange model boasts a metallic sheen. The white phone, meanwhile, includes a paneled sandstone finish on the back.
One of the most attractive aspects of the CMF Phone Pro 2 is its price point. The 256GB model costs just $279, making it an affordable option for consumers looking for a high-quality smartphone. However, availability may be limited in the US, with pre-orders currently only open to those in the company’s beta program.
In addition to the CMF Phone Pro 2, Engadget reports that CMF by Nothing has also unveiled a range of earbuds, including the CMF Buds 2, CMF Buds 2 Plus, and CMF Buds 2a. The CMF Buds 2 offer standard entry-level features, including ANC and spatial audio, for around $50. The CMF Buds 2 Plus adds hi-res LDAC and a full EQ to the mix, and costs around $65. The CMF Buds 2a, meanwhile, is aimed at budget-conscious consumers and still includes ANC, all for around $38.
Unfortunately for US consumers, none of the earbuds will be available to purchase at launch. However, they will be available on May 6, with pre-orders opening today. As reported by Engadget, CMF by Nothing is clearly looking to make a splash in the tech market with its latest offerings, and it will be interesting to see how consumers respond to these new products.
The CMF Phone Pro 2 and earbuds represent an exciting new direction for CMF by Nothing, and we will be keeping a close eye on how these products perform in the market. As Engadget notes, the company’s focus on affordability and innovative design is likely to appeal to consumers looking for high-quality products without breaking the bank.
