Ryanair Warns of Widespread Travel Disruption for UK Holidaymakers

Ryanair Issues Travel Warning for UK Flights Due to Low Visibility Conditions

A travel warning has been issued by Ryanair for flights to and from the UK today, April 28, due to low visibility conditions. The weather-related issue may affect all Ryanair services operating to and from British airports, according to a report from GB News.

Passengers are advised to prepare for potential delays or cancellations, with those affected being notified directly by Ryanair via email and SMS. The airline has urged travellers to check the Ryanair app for the latest updates on their flight status. This precautionary measure aims to keep travellers informed about any changes to their scheduled services.

In a statement, Ryanair emphasised that the situation is "outside of Ryanair’s control" and "affects all airlines operating to/from the UK" today. However, the low-cost carrier did express regret for any inconvenience caused to passengers. For the most up-to-date information, concerned flyers can visit Ryanair’s Latest Travel Updates page.

The Irish carrier also has a dedicated web page on cancelled, delayed and rescheduled flights, for those who have further questions. Here, the airline offers important information on the different options available to passengers affected by flight disruptions. Ryanair confirmed that compensation will not be offered in the case of "extraordinary circumstances", which include adverse weather conditions, de-icing, lightning strikes, runway/airport closure, strike action, issues with Air Traffic Control, bird strike, foreign object debris, external handling difficulties, and security and medical emergencies.

As reported by GB News, Britons travelling with other airlines should keep an eye out for similar updates today, as the adverse weather conditions will likely affect these journeys too. In other Ryanair news, the airline launched seven new routes earlier this month, which will form part of Ryanair’s Summer 2025 schedule, providing "more choice at the lowest fares".

The airline’s travel warning comes as a separate report suggests that Liverpool will implement a new tourist tax within weeks, charging £2 for overnight visitors. This will be introduced to boost the city’s tourism economy, although members of the public worry it could deter visitors. As GB News previously reported, passengers affected by potential disruptions will be notified directly by Ryanair.

The low visibility conditions could result in holiday chaos for Ryanair passengers today. According to GB News, an image of passengers queuing to board Ryanair planes at Stansted Airport, Essex, shows the potential for disruption.

The issue highlights the ongoing challenges faced by airlines and passengers in the wake of unpredictable weather conditions. For those travelling with Ryanair, it is essential to stay informed about any updates to flight schedules and to be prepared for potential disruptions.
