Garcia vs Romero: Fight Night Details Revealed

Ryan Garcia Returns to the Ring: All You Need to Know About the Upcoming Fight Against Rolly Romero

This Friday, Ryan Garcia will make his highly anticipated return to the ring after a drug-related ban, taking on Rolly Romero in a thrilling welterweight bout in Times Square, New York City. The event, organised by Ring Magazine, promises to be an exciting one, with a stacked card featuring top-notch fights, including Devin Haney vs Jose Ramirez and Teofimo Lopez vs Arnold Barboza Jr.

According to The Independent, Garcia, 26, is looking to bounce back from a tumultuous period in his career, having failed a pre-fight drug test and missed weight before his previous bout against Devin Haney. The result of that fight was subsequently overturned, keeping Haney’s unbeaten record intact. However, Garcia has since served a one-year ban and is now ready to make his comeback.

The Independent reports that the event will stream live exclusively on DAZN pay-per-view, with fans able to purchase the event for £21.99 in the UK, $59.99 in the US, and the equivalent of $24.99 for the rest of the world. Viewers can also take advantage of the DAZN Knockout Weekend Bundle, which includes the Times Square event and Canelo vs Scull on 3 May.

As per the Independent, the full fight card for the event is as follows:

  • Ryan Garcia vs Rolly Romero (welterweight)
  • Devin Haney vs Jose Ramirez (welterweight)
  • Teofimo Lopez (champion) vs Arnold Barboza Jr (WBO super-lightweight title)

The Independent also provides the latest odds for the fights, courtesy of Betway:

  • Garcia – 1/9; Romero – 11/2; draw – 20/1
  • Haney – 1/12; Ramirez – 13/1; draw – 18/1
  • Lopez – 4/9; Barboza Jr –15/8 ; draw – 16/1

In a quote from the Independent, it is stated that "Garcia and Haney, if both win, are expected to square off against each other next, after Garcia shocked his fellow American with three knockdowns and a points win last April."

The Independent adds that fans can buy a subscription to DAZN, with plans starting at £14.99 a month, and take advantage of a seven-day free trial of the DAZN platform.

Overall, this Friday’s event promises to be an exciting one for boxing fans, with top-notch fights and a stacked card. As reported by the Independent, Ryan Garcia’s return to the ring will be a closely watched event, and fans can expect a thrilling performance from the 26-year-old boxer.
