Sunnie Dyer, the 18-year-old daughter of EastEnders star Danny Dyer and his wife Jo Mas, is set to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry. According to an article in The Sun, Sunnie has been watching her big sister Dani Dyer make a name for herself and step outside of their dad’s shadow.
Dani Dyer, who won Love Island in 2018, has become a successful podcaster, mum of three, and fiancée of a Premier League footballer. She has also secured numerous endorsement deals, as reported by The Sun. Sunnie, who looks incredibly similar to her older sister, has been joining her famous dad at various events in the run-up to her milestone birthday.
The Sun reports that Sunnie has ventured into the TV world, with an appearance on ITV game show Big Star’s Little Star back in 2015. In a Q&A session with her followers, Sunnie revealed she hopes her path follows that of her famous dad’s. When one asked what she wants to do after school, Sunnie replied: “Acting hopefully and moving to LA!”
According to brand and culture expert Nick Ede, it’s the “perfect time for Sunnie to make her mark” in the acting world. “I can see her auditioning for TV shows like EastEnders but also for Netflix dramas too,” he told The Sun. Nick used ex-Love Island winner Amber Davies as an example of someone who has made an impressive career jump from reality TV.
The Sun reports that taking on a cameo role on Albert Square could also be a profitable venture for Sunnie, with Nick estimating she could earn around £25,000 for a potential appearance. If she was to go down the Netflix route, she could be in for a £100k payday, depending on the show and the duration of the series.
Another route Sunnie could choose to take is into the fashion world. Sister Dani knows a few things about that, having previously fronted her own ranges for online retailer In The Style. And it was recently rumoured that PrettyLittleThing were in talks to snap up Sunnie to collaborate with them.
“If Sunnie wants longevity, she needs substance,” Edward Coram-James, CEO of PR and SEO agency Go Up, stressed. Suggesting she could “build skills” by studying fashion or honing her acting skills at drama school, Ed urged: “Don’t just throw your surname at a brand deal and hope it sticks. The public is over nepotism unless the nepo baby delivers!”
Sunnie and Dani look more than a little similar, and the younger sibling is often mistaken for her big sister when she’s out and about. But a brand expert has urged Sunnie not to rely entirely on her famous family name.
The article, published in The Sun, highlights Sunnie’s potential career paths and her determination to make a name for herself outside of her dad’s shadow. According to The Sun, Sunnie has shown she’s more than capable of modelling clothes herself too, after teaming up with brand Dress 2 Party to showcase prom dresses for them.
Celebrity PR expert Ed Hopkins noted that Dani has completely shaken off the ‘chav’ persona and has become one of the most well-known of the current England WAGs. The Sun reports that Dani has had a rollercoaster few years, from her Love Island win back in 2018, to watching her son’s father Sammy Kimmence go to prison for fraud, and now navigating her glamourous new life as a WAG and mother of twin babies.
Overall, it seems that Sunnie has a bright future ahead of her, with many potential career paths to choose from, as reported by The Sun.
