Kingsroad Game Set for May 21 Launch, Aims to Recreate All of Westeros

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Full Launch Scheduled for May 21, Devs Want to Bring the Entirety of Westeros to Life

In a recent announcement, Netmarble revealed that Game of Thrones: Kingsroad will have its full launch as a free-to-play title on May 21. The game will be available on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Windows Launcher, as well as on mobile devices via Android or iOS across the world, with the exception of Asia, which will have to wait until later this year. According to a report by WCCFTech, the online action/adventure/RPG launched on Steam Early Access on March 26, and the developers have introduced several fixes and improvements based on community feedback over the past few weeks.

As WCCFTech reported, Game Director Hyunil Jang outlined the game’s roadmap with a letter to the community, addressing several key issues and upcoming features. One of the main concerns was field boss matchmaking, which allows up to 12 players to participate together. During the early access period, field bosses spawned frequently, but this led to players being spread out, making it harder for groups to come together and enjoy the content fully. To improve this, the developers plan to reduce the number of times Drogon appears each day, allowing for a more enjoyable experience for players.

The WCCFTech article also mentioned that based on feedback from the early access version of the game and the closed beta, the developers plan to support Portuguese and Turkish at launch. Additionally, players who purchased the Founder’s Packs will receive additional costumes that can be used by all classes as a thank you for helping to fine-tune Game of Thrones: Kingsroad.

The game’s RP system was also addressed, with the developers acknowledging that the current supply felt too low, making the overall experience less satisfying. The team is actively discussing balance adjustments to increase the daily amount of RP provided. Furthermore, the developers are working on adding new types of content, including exploration challenges and co-op content, to keep players engaged even beyond RP.

According to WCCFTech, the game’s developers are committed to bringing the entirety of Westeros to life with the same level of detail and authenticity. The next region to be visited is the Stormlands, ruled by Stannis Baratheon, which will have a dark and oppressive feel and atmosphere matching the region’s tone. The narrative for this next chapter will be slightly darker, diving into the aspects of religion and what it would mean to a medieval society like that of Westeros to have their king suddenly declare that all people under his rule are now obliged to change their faith.

In a statement, the developers said, "Our aim has always been to deliver a more polished and complete experience, but we recognized that there were areas like bugs and overall stability where we still have work to do. There may still be moments ahead where things don’t meet expectations, but when that happens, we’re committed to responding quickly, addressing issues and keeping communication open. As we work to improve, we’ll continue working to make Game of Thrones: Kingsroad even better. Moving forward, our goal is to keep listening closely to your feedback and provide gaming service in a way that reflects our voices." This statement was reported by WCCFTech and highlights the developers’ commitment to delivering a high-quality gaming experience.

The full launch of Game of Thrones: Kingsroad on May 21 is highly anticipated, and with the developers’ commitment to listening to community feedback and continuously improving the game, players can expect a rich and rewarding experience. As reported by WCCFTech, the game promises to bring the world of Westeros to life like never before, with a detailed and authentic representation of the region and its people.
