Walker hails Arsenal’s Lewis-Skelly as ‘next Tottenham great’

Myles Lewis-Skelly has been one of Arsenal’s most impressive players this season.

The 18-year-old was still playing for the club’s academy this time last year, but Mikel Arteta took Lewis-Skelly on his pre-season tour to the United States.

The Hale End graduate impressed there, and after the likes of Riccardo Calafiori and Oleksandr Zinchenko suffered injuries, Arteta decided to give the youngster opportunities in the first team.

Lewis-Skelly has been fantastic since and has produced several phenomenal performances. He is Arsenal’s first-choice left-back now and one of their most important players.

Kyle Walker, who knows a thing or two about being a world-class full-back, has now delivered his verdict on Lewis-Skelly.

Kyle Walker compares Arsenal star Myles Lewis-Skelly to Danny Rose

Myles Lewis-Skelly has impressed everyone this season.

It’s not just Arsenal fans who have been raving about him, even former Tottenham players like Gary Lineker have been in awe of Lewis-Skelly and his performances.

The teenager is naturally a central midfielder, but he has mostly been used as a left-back by Arteta this season. He has done brilliantly there.

But, whenever he inverts and drives with the ball, Lewis-Skelly reminds people of Mousa Dembele, the former Tottenham midfielder.

Walker, however, thinks the young Arsenal star is similar to another former Spurs player who spent over a decade at Tottenham – Danny Rose.

Walker said on his podcast: “This is a 17-18-year-old that has just broken onto the scene at Arsenal, and all of a sudden, he’s taking the international stage in his stride.

“Could I have done that at his age? Maybe not!

“He is physical. He reminds me a little bit of a guest that we had on the first season (of the podcast), Danny Rose.

“He reminds me of Danny Rose, how he plays. He uses his body well, he’s got a good left foot and a good football brain.”

Lewis-Skelly is levels above Danny Rose

Rose was a decent player for Tottenham and produced some great performances, including scoring a brilliant goal against Arsenal in a North London Derby.

However, the former Spurs left-back was never as talented as Lewis-Skelly.

The Arsenal number 49 has been brilliant in his debut season against the biggest sides on the planet. His performance against Real Madrid over two legs was out of this world.

Rose was good, but Lewis-Skelly is already better than him. In the coming years, we’re convinced that the teenager will break even more records and become a superstar.

According to Arsenal Insider, Lewis-Skelly’s rise to prominence has been swift and impressive, with the youngster becoming a mainstay in Arsenal’s first team.

The comparison to Danny Rose is an interesting one, with Walker highlighting Lewis-Skelly’s physicality, technical ability, and footballing intelligence as key attributes that remind him of the former Tottenham full-back.

As noted by Arsenal Insider, Lewis-Skelly has been a revelation for Arsenal this season, with his performances earning him widespread acclaim.

In an interview, Walker praised Lewis-Skelly’s adaptability, stating that he has taken to the international stage with ease.

Lewis-Skelly: A Rising Star

Lewis-Skelly’s rapid rise to prominence has been a major talking point in the football world, with many pundits and fans alike singing his praises.

The 18-year-old’s impressive performances have not gone unnoticed, with several top clubs reportedly interested in securing his services.

However, as Arsenal Insider reports, Arsenal are keen to tie Lewis-Skelly down to a long-term contract, recognising his immense potential and value to the team.

As the season draws to a close, Lewis-Skelly will undoubtedly be one to watch, with his development and growth set to be closely monitored by fans and pundits alike.

In conclusion, Myles Lewis-Skelly is a talented young player who has already made a significant impact in the football world.

With his impressive performances and potential for growth, it is no wonder that he has drawn comparisons to established stars like Danny Rose.

As reported by Arsenal Insider, Lewis-Skelly’s future looks bright, and it will be exciting to see how his career unfolds in the coming years.
