Séville : la foire va booster sa capacité d’accueil en 2026

Seville Fair to Expand with 250 Additional Stands in 2026

The annual Feria de Abril in Seville, Spain, has long been a hugely popular event, attracting millions of visitors each year. However, with the current number of stands, or "casetas", being insufficient to meet demand, the city’s mayor, José Luis Sanz, has announced plans to expand the fair. According to reports from Sevilla Secreta, the 2026 fair will feature nearly 250 additional stands.

The expansion plans were confirmed by Mayor Sanz, who stated that the fair will not be relocated, despite concerns about overcrowding. Instead, the fair will be expanded within its current location, with the addition of new stands primarily along the "rue de l’Enfer" (Hell Street). This move is expected to alleviate the pressure on the current infrastructure and provide a better experience for visitors.

The decision to expand the fair comes as no surprise, given the huge demand for tickets and the limited capacity of the current stands. According to Sevilla Secreta, the mayor expects around one million people to visit the Real (the fairgrounds) during the 2025 edition. With the addition of 250 new stands, the fair is expected to be able to accommodate even more visitors in 2026.

The mayor also addressed concerns about the fair’s infrastructure, recalling the power outage that occurred on April 28. He stated that if the outage had coincided with the fair, the generators installed two years ago would have provided lighting for the Real, allowing it to be safely evacuated.

The expansion of the fair is also seen as an opportunity to revisit the traditional layout of the event. With the return to the traditional Monday-to-Sunday format, the city will need to ensure that the fair can accommodate the increased number of visitors. According to Sevilla Secreta, Mayor Sanz has ruled out relocating the fair, ensuring that it will remain in its current location.

The plans for the 2026 fair are already underway, with the city working to accommodate the increased demand. As Sevilla Secreta reports, the mayor is keen to ensure that the fair remains a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors. With the addition of new stands and improved infrastructure, the 2026 Feria de Abril is shaping up to be an event not to be missed.

In related news, the city of Seville is expected to see a significant influx of visitors during the fair, with many tourists and locals alike flocking to the event. As the city prepares for the 2026 fair, residents and visitors can look forward to an exciting and expanded celebration. According to Sevilla Secreta, the mayor is committed to ensuring that the fair remains a highlight of the city’s cultural calendar.
