Saka Apologizes After Liverpool Star Hospitalized with Broken Bone

Liverpool Echo: Bukayo Saka Apologises to Kostas Tsimikas Ahead of Anfield Clash
The Liverpool Echo has learned that Bukayo Saka apologised to Kostas Tsimikas after a collision between the two players during a Premier League match at Anfield in December. The incident led to Tsimikas suffering a collarbone injury and being substituted by Joe Gomez.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Saka conveyed his regret during an interview with Sky Sports, saying: “I heard he has gone to hospital so obviously I want to apologise to him, I didn’t mean it of course. For me it was a 50/50 and I have gone shoulder to shoulder with him.” The Arsenal star added: “I didn’t see it, but he must have taken a bad fall. I didn’t see him go into Jurgen Klopp either. I was focused on running forward because I didn’t think it was a foul. That’s my take on it.”

The Liverpool Echo understands that Liverpool will be given a guard of honour by Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday, as the Gunners look to secure a second-place finish in the Premier League. The Reds have established a commanding 15-point lead over Arsenal and are on the brink of clinching the title.

The Liverpool Echo reports that Arsenal’s midfield maestro Declan Rice has already offered his praise to the champions, acknowledging his team’s shortfall in the title race. “We’ve obviously seen what they’ve done, massive credit to them, they’ve been the most consistent team throughout the season, performed to a really high standard and ability,” said the England international. “Cannot knock them, can’t take anything away from them, everyone else fell short and in the end they were probably the strongest team in it.”

The Liverpool Echo notes that if Arsenal secure a second-place finish this season, they will make history as the first Premier League team to be runners-up for three consecutive seasons on two separate occasions.

The Liverpool Echo also understands that upon the 2024/25 season’s kick-off, many had their bets on either Manchester City or Arsenal to clinch the title, yet it was Arne Slot’s squad that emerged triumphant.

The Liverpool Echo previously reported that the last time Liverpool welcomed Arsenal to Anfield, Konstantinos Tsimikas suffered a collarbone injury and later received an apology from Bukayo Saka post-match. In the previous encounter in December 2023, with both Premier League titans clashing at Anfield, Arsenal led the league while Liverpool followed closely in second.

The Liverpool Echo has further learned that Arsenal will give Liverpool a guard of honour at Anfield on Sunday, as the Gunners look to secure a second-place finish in the Premier League.

In related news, Mohamed Salah and the rest of the Liverpool squad will look to make it a successful season at Anfield, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.
