Thousands Eligible for £100 Nationwide Bonus: Who Qualifies?

Nationwide Customers Set to Receive Further Bonus Payments This Summer

Millions of Nationwide customers are expected to receive further bonus payments this summer, according to reports. The building society’s Fairer Share scheme, which has paid out to over three million customers in each of the last two years, is set to return in 2025, although a formal announcement is not expected until later in May.

The scheme, which is dependent on Nationwide’s financial performance, will see eligible customers receive a payment of £100. However, not all Nationwide customers will qualify for the payment. Based on last year’s criteria, customers will need to have used their current accounts up to March 31, and will also need to have either a savings account or mortgage with Nationwide.

To qualify, customers will need to have paid for things in shops with a debit card or have direct debits going out, or have money such as their salary going in. They will also need to have had at least £100 in their savings account or owe at least £100 on a mortgage. So, just having a current account or a savings account will not be enough to qualify.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Nationwide has not yet confirmed whether the scheme will return for 2025, though bosses have said they intend it to be the case. A formal announcement is expected later in May, and payments could then follow in June.

The news comes after Nationwide recently completed the takeover of Virgin Money, which led to customers being handed separate £50 bonus payments during April. This has no impact on the £100 payments, which are expected to be made as part of the Fairer Share scheme.

Money experts have said it is widely expected that Fairer Share will return this year. “Nationwide’s Fairer Share scheme has been a huge success in recent years, with millions of customers benefiting from the payments,” said a spokesperson for the building society. “We are committed to rewarding our customers and look forward to making further payments this summer.”

The Birmingham Mail reports that customers who qualify for the payment will be notified by Nationwide in due course. In the meantime, customers can check their eligibility by reviewing their account activity and ensuring they meet the necessary criteria.

Nationwide’s Fairer Share scheme is just one example of the building society’s commitment to rewarding its customers. With millions of customers set to benefit from the payments, it is clear that Nationwide is dedicated to providing value to its members.

As reported by the Birmingham Mail, Nationwide customers who qualify for the new payments can find out more information here.

The scheme will see customers handed a payment of up to £100.
