Lang: ‘PSV dé kampioenenploeg, Ajax nog niet’

PSV Eindhoven’s Title Hopes Revitalised as Noa Lang Stars in Win Against Ajax
================================================================================

The Eredivisie title race has taken a dramatic turn with PSV Eindhoven reeling off the back of a crucial 3-2 win against Ajax, thanks in large part to a brace from former Ajax player Noa Lang. The result has pulled the deficit between the two sides down to just one point with only two games remaining, setting up a thrilling conclusion to the Dutch top-flight season.

According to Sporza, the mood in Amsterdam was jubilant at one point during the weekend, with Ajax seemingly on course to claim their first Eredivisie title in years. However, Lang’s heroics for PSV ensured that the Eindhoven side remained very much in contention.

Lang, who made the switch to PSV from Ajax in the summer, was his usual provocative self during and after the match. The 25-year-old, who has been with PSV since 2021, scored two crucial goals to help his side to a 3-2 win. As Sporza reports, Lang’s performance was enough to spark debate among fans and pundits alike.

Supporter Sam Kerkhofs was left to ponder what might have been for Ajax, telling Sporza: “Aan dit weekend zie je dat PSV dé kampioenenploeg is in de Eredivisie. Ajax zit nu in deze polepositie omdat PSV het zo liet afweten.”

Steven Defour, a pundit for 90 minutes, echoed Kerkhofs’ sentiments, suggesting that PSV now hold the psychological advantage: “Het psychologische voordeel ligt bij PSV. Ze dachten na de wedstrijd tegen PSV dat het binnen was. Die decompressie komt dan, een keertje puntenverlies geeft niet. Om dat nog om te draaien is heel moeilijk.”

Lang’s role in PSV’s resurgence cannot be overstated. The 25-year-old has been in fine form of late, scoring crucial goals and causing problems for opposing teams with his pace and trickery. As Sporza notes, Lang’s performance against Ajax was just the latest in a string of impressive displays.

The Eredivisie title race is set to go down to the wire, with both Ajax and PSV still in with a chance of claiming the crown. However, based on recent form, it is hard to look past PSV as the team to beat.

The title decider is set to be a thrilling affair, with both teams still in with a chance of claiming the crown. Will it be Ajax or PSV that emerges victorious? Only time will tell.
