Emmerdale Star Bradley Riches Hints Moira May Not Get Away with Murder
The popular ITV soap Emmerdale has long been known for its dramatic plot twists and shocking storylines, and the latest development is no exception. Bradley Riches, who has recently joined the cast as Lewis Barton, the secret son of Emma Barton, has hinted that Moira Barton, played by Natalie J Robb, may not get away with her dark past.
According to an interview with Metro.co.uk, Bradley Riches has revealed that Moira will be nervous about her past being exposed as Lewis arrives in the village with many questions about his family. Emma Barton, played by Alexandra Mardell, was a villainous character who was responsible for many crimes, including shooting her son Finn, smothering her other son Ross, and causing the Hotten Bypass crash.
In 2017, Emma was pushed from a viaduct by Moira, but her son Adam took the blame. Ever since then, Moira has worked hard to move past the ordeal, but it’s dredged up in the show soon, as Lewis arrives with a lot of questions. As Metro.co.uk previously reported, Lewis has grown up away from his extended family and wants to know an awful lot about them and his mum.
Unfortunately, Lewis doesn’t consider the Bartons are hiding these dark secrets, but why would he? As a result of someone poking their nose into the family’s past, it will leave Moira fearing the truth about Emma will be exposed. Metro.co.uk spoke to Bradley Riches, who revealed: “Oh, I think she’s going to be nervous! We know she’s the one who killed Emma, but Adam Barton – who’s Lewis’ cousin – took the blame for it because the police wouldn’t believe it was Moira, basically.”
He added: “She’s nervous about this coming back to light. It’s something she’s had to live with and think about and for a new person to come in and bring all that past trauma back up is going to be nerve-wracking. Is she going to get away with what she thought she got away with eight years ago?” As Metro.co.uk reported earlier, Lewis sends a letter to Moira, which eventually leads to Ross deciding to meet him.
Seeing your brother for the first time ever would normally leave someone very nervous, but Bradley has confirmed Lewis isn’t really fussed about connecting with Ross at the start. He said: “I think at first Lewis is kind of using Ross, in a way. He doesn’t really care because he’s got his own friends and he doesn’t care if he has this brotherly relationship. All he wants is to know the answers, really.” As Metro.co.uk noted, Bradley Riches also revealed that Lewis gets quite interested in Ross once he meets him, because Lewis has never met someone like him.
The storyline is set to cause a stir in the village, with many questions being raised about Moira’s past and her role in Emma’s death. With Lewis now in the picture, it remains to be seen how Moira will handle the situation and whether she will be able to keep her secrets hidden. One thing is certain, however, as Metro.co.uk has exclusively reported, the arrival of Lewis Barton is set to bring a new level of drama to the popular soap.
In a recent interview, Bradley Riches also revealed that Lewis finds out nothing in his first meeting with Ross. He said: “He finds out nothing in that first meeting. Ross is very like, ‘You don’t want to know. She was a horrible woman,’ and that’s the end of the conversation.” As Metro.co.uk previously noted, there are so many things that have gone down, part of him is grateful for knowing the truth but he’s processing what happened with his mum.
The storyline is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats as the drama unfolds in Emmerdale. With the arrival of Lewis Barton, the village is set to be rocked to its core, and Moira’s past is about to come back to haunt her. As Metro.co.uk has reported, the latest development in Emmerdale is set to be a major talking point for fans of the show.
