Jesy Nelson Gives Birth to Twin Daughters After Induced Labour
Former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has given birth to her twin daughters, Ocean Jade Nelson-Foster and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster, after an induced labour in a London hospital. The 33-year-old singer, who has been open about her struggles with pregnancy, welcomed her babies at 31 weeks and 5 days, following a “blessed” 10 weeks of pregnancy.
According to reports from the Daily Star, Jesy and her partner Zion Foster have been in the hospital for the past ten weeks to ensure their newborns were kept under the safest conditions. Medical professionals had intended to induce labour when the babies reached a healthy size at about 32 weeks. Jesy took to Instagram to share the news, posting pictures of her twin daughters, one snug in an orange beanie, nestled against her, and the other being held by Zion.
The couple has been through a challenging journey, with Jesy undergoing an urgent operation in April due to the twins being diagnosed with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, a potentially lethal condition. However, after surgery, Jesy’s pregnancy progressed positively, and the twins’ health took a turn for the better. Jesy expressed her gratitude, saying, “We feel so grateful and blessed that these little babies are still going strong.”
Jesy and Zion have received thousands of supportive messages from the public since sharing the twins’ struggles during pregnancy. Zion mentioned that Jesy often read these messages, which provided comfort during the pregnancy. He told the Daily Star, “It’s really been incredible, the level of support. It’s been absolutely incredible. And I think just massive, massive, massive credit to Jesy, because obviously when these kinds of things happen, it’s very difficult to actually share that.”
The couple’s bond has strengthened during their recent experience of living in a hospital to monitor the twins’ progress. Zion confessed, “The same four walls are driving us a bit crazy. However, we’ve literally grown to understand each other on a deeper level. And I think we really understand how much we actually care about each other.” He added, “I think it’s at these times when you really, really know what love you have and what your relationship means. And I think for me and Jess, this has just taken it to a whole other level of us knowing we are literally made for each other.”
Jesy is not the only Little Mix member to become a mother. In 2021, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock both gave birth to babies within a week of each other. Perrie welcomed a son named Axel with her fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, while Leigh-Anne welcomed twins with her husband Andre Gray.
The Daily Star reports that Jesy has been sharing her emotional pregnancy journey with her admirers online. In May, she treated fans to monochrome snaps of her sizeable bump and fresh ultrasound images of the twins. Her caption read: “Muma Nelson and Papa Foster” with the addition of a heart emoji. In further photos, she affectionately referred to Zion as “my husband.”
As Jesy and Zion begin their new chapter as parents, they are filled with joy and gratitude. Jesy wrote on Instagram, “So… Our beautiful baby girls decided to come at 31weeks plus 5 days. It all happened so quickly, but we are so blessed that they are here with us, healthy and fighting strong! We’ve never felt more in love. The couple’s friends and fans have been flooding their social media accounts with congratulations and well-wishes. Safiyya Vorajee gushed: “Oh how my heart just filled up with love for you all, congratulations welcome to the world babies you are so special, beautiful names, now it’s time to soak up all the love and start your new chapter with love health and happiness so happy for you all.” Luke Hamnett added his congrats, saying: “Congratulations my lovely.” An adoring fan gushed: “They’re absolutely precious, so are their names. Congratulations and welcome to the World, sweet girls.”
