Lily James and Rupert Friend Set to Co-Star in ‘Photo Booth’
A new film, titled ‘Photo Booth’, has been announced with Lily James and Rupert Friend set to co-star in the lead roles. According to a report from Yardbarker, James will play the role of Jean, a renowned performance artist at the height of her career who has always prioritised ambition over family.
In the film, Jean and her husband Ben, played by Friend, suffer a setback in their bid to have a child, leading to Ben embarking on an affair with Millie, played by Raffey Cassidy, and getting her pregnant. The story follows Jean’s decision to invite Millie to move into their home, creating a complex and tense dynamic between the three characters.
‘Photo Booth’ will be the feature directorial debut of Spencer and Lloyd Harvey, filmmakers and fine art photographers. In a statement, the duo said: ” ‘Photo Booth’ is the story we needed to tell, one deeply rooted in the discussion of legacy and the choices that define us. As siblings and filmmakers, we’ve always been drawn to emotionally complex, character-driven stories that sit at the intersection of self-expression and identity. This film is deeply personal, and having the incredible Lily James as our fearless Jean – we know will be electric. We can’t wait for the world to see what she does.”
The film’s plot has been generating significant interest, with many praising the casting of James and Friend. HanWay Films CEO Gabrielle Stewart added: ” ‘Photo Booth’ is a total page turner where intimate relationships are laid bare with razor-sharp dialogue. Rupert Friend is a fantastic addition to the cast as a sparring partner for Lily James, in this tense three-hander. The brilliant Cathy Konrad is producing along with Lily James and Gala Gordon and this award-winning screenplay is already garnering a lot of attention as we enter Cannes.”
The involvement of James and Friend in the project is likely to draw significant attention, given their impressive track records in the film industry. James has previously starred in a range of films and television shows, including ‘Downton Abbey’ and ‘Cinderella’, while Friend has appeared in ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ and ‘The Young Victoria’.
The announcement of ‘Photo Booth’ comes as the film industry continues to evolve and adapt to changing circumstances. With its complex characters and tense dynamics, the film is set to be a compelling and thought-provoking watch. As Yardbarker reports, the film is already generating significant buzz ahead of its release.
The film’s production team is also noteworthy, with Cathy Konrad and Lily James serving as producers alongside Gala Gordon. With its talented cast and crew, ‘Photo Booth’ is set to be a major player in the film industry in the coming months.
The film is a project from HanWay Films, with the CEO expressing her excitement for the project, as Yardbarker states, and we will see more of this in future.
