Scott Mills Vows Eurovision Tattoo If UK Wins

Scott Mills Makes Bold Promise to Listeners if UK’s Remember Monday Triumphs in Eurovision

BBC Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills has made a remarkable pledge to his loyal listener base, revealing that he plans to get a tattoo if the UK’s entry, Remember Monday, secures a top spot at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. The veteran broadcaster, aged 52, will be joining the presenter ranks for this year’s contest, co-hosting the semi-finals alongside Rylan Clark.

According to Wales Online, Scott Mills is set to reunite with Rylan in the commentary box to provide live insights during the grand finale, bringing the thrills of the contest from Switzerland directly to the audience. As anticipation builds, Scott has declared his intent to celebrate if Remember Monday triumphs in this year’s final.

In an exclusive statement, Scott Mills excitedly stated: "I cannot wait to be back in the commentary booth with Rylan, who will no doubt have perfected every dance routine for all 37 countries. We’ll be cheering on Remember Monday… who I’ve already agreed to get matching tattoos with if they place in the Top 5 in the Final!" as Wales Online reported, citing the Express.

Furthermore, Scott expressed enthusiasm about taking his Breakfast Show on the road, saying: "And I’m so excited to be taking my Breakfast Show international as we broadcast from the heart of the contest in Basel for the whole week." He enthused about the event: "Eurovision is a true celebration of diversity and I love sharing that with everyone – to do that for the first time on the UK’s biggest Breakfast Show is a dream!" as reported by Wales Online.

Ahead of the Tuesday (May 13) and Thursday (May 15) semi-final broadcasts, Scott hinted at a fun take on the competition’s music, ensuring it remains a light-hearted experience for listeners. He commented: "I would say that there are more jokey, fun songs than normal at Eurovision this year. I know if you go back to Eurovision of the 80s and 90s, there was a lot of novelty songs."

This year will see UK hopefuls Remember Monday take to the Eurovision stage. The girl band is composed of Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull, and Charlotte Steel, who initially rose to fame following their appearance on The Voice UK back in 2019. The Eurovision Song Contest Semi-Finals air on Tuesday 13 May and Thursday 15 May on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.

As reported by Wales Online, Scott Mills added: "A lot of these songs get chosen internally, so the public have nothing to do with it, but then a lot of the songs are a result of winning a public vote on television to find that country’s Eurovision entry, and as a result a lot of them are quite fun this year. There are a lot of songs where some Eurovision fans will go, oh, it just makes a mockery of the whole competition, but I’m here for it. It’s part of the contest!"

The BBC Radio 1 DJ has a long history of supporting the Eurovision Song Contest, and this year’s event promises to be an exciting one, with a range of talented performers vying for the top spot. As reported by Wales Online, fans will have to tune in to see if Remember Monday can secure a top spot and if Scott Mills will follow through on his bold promise to get a tattoo.
