El ‘olvido’ de Reina al volante: un portero desorientado

Former Liverpool Goalkeeper Pepe Reina Opens Up About His Struggles with Driving in Spain

According to a report by Motor section of El País, Pepe Reina, the veteran goalkeeper, has announced his retirement from professional football after 26 seasons. However, he will remain involved in the sport as the coach of the Juvenil A team at Villarreal, starting from next season. As reported by the Motor section of El País, Reina’s career has spanned several countries, including the United Kingdom, where he played for Liverpool from 2005 to 2010 under Rafael Benítez.

During his time in the UK, Reina had to adapt to driving on the left side of the road, which is the opposite of what he was used to in Spain. In an interview, he revealed that the adjustment was not as difficult as he thought it would be. "I got used to it quite quickly," he said, as quoted by the Motor section of El País. However, he did have one issue – he preferred to drive a car with the steering wheel on the left side, which made it challenging for him to navigate toll booths and other situations.

The Motor section of El País reported that Reina’s struggles with driving in Spain began when he returned to his home country after his stint at Liverpool. He revealed that he had become so accustomed to driving on the left side of the road that he almost caused an accident when he first returned to Spain. "I was driving along, not doing anything, and suddenly a car was coming towards me in my lane," he recalled. "I thought, ‘Where is this guy going? He’s crazy!’ Then I realized it was me who was in the wrong lane and I had to move to the right before causing an accident."

As reported by the Motor section of El País, Reina’s experience highlights the challenges that people may face when moving to a new country and having to adapt to different driving conditions. His story serves as a reminder that even simple tasks, like driving, can become complicated when we are not used to them.

The Motor section of El País also noted that Reina’s retirement from professional football marks the end of an era for the sport. With a career spanning over two decades, Reina has played for several top-tier clubs, including Liverpool, Barcelona, and Napoli. His experience and expertise will undoubtedly be missed on the pitch, but his new role as a coach at Villarreal will allow him to remain involved in the sport he loves.

In conclusion, as reported by the Motor section of El País, Pepe Reina’s story serves as a fascinating insight into the challenges of adapting to new driving conditions and the importance of experience and expertise in sports. As he begins his new chapter as a coach, fans and fellow players alike will be watching his progress with interest.
