Arsenal Weighs Trossard Future Amidst Transfer Talks

Arsenal Prepare to Offer Leandro Trossard a New Contract Amid Saudi Pro League Interest

Arsenal are gearing up to offer Leandro Trossard a new contract during the off-season, despite interest from Saudi Pro League clubs, according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown. In an exclusive interview with Football Insider, Brown revealed that Mikel Arteta values the 30-year-old as an important squad player.

According to Brown, Arteta sees Trossard as a valuable part of his squad, and the club is willing to give him a new contract to keep him around. “He’s a good technical player and he’s shown in his time at Arsenal that he’s willing to work hard and give everything he’s got,” Brown told Football Insider. “He can come off the bench and give you a bit of energy and desire late in games.”

However, it’s understood that Arsenal are aiming to sign at least one new forward to improve their starting XI, which would see Trossard’s role reduced to an impact player. This comes after Brown told Football Insider that Arsenal want to sign a “special” forward after what has been another frustrating season in North London.

Arteta is believed to have grown frustrated with the Gunners’ lack of a consistent threat in recent months and wants to upgrade on the likes of Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli. Meanwhile, Brown told Football Insider that Martinelli could be allowed to leave Arsenal as part of a potential overhaul of their forward options.

As part of their ambitious plans for the summer, the Gunners have identified a number of attacking options who would improve their squad. Football Insider revealed on 10 May that Arsenal are in talks with Trossard over a four-year contract as he enters the final year of his current deal. Brown explained that the new deal will not come with any guarantees over his place in the squad.

The club wants to keep Trossard at the club because of what he can bring to the squad, but if they can sign the attackers they want, he’ll become more of a backup. “I think that will be his role next season, not like this year where he’s started a lot of games,” Brown added.

In a separate development, Brown told Football Insider on 18 May that Arsenal want to sign Rafael Leao from AC Milan and will step up their interest if Martinelli is sold. Leao has been identified as a potential option, and scouts have been keeping an eye on his progress in Milan since before the start of the season, with work ongoing.

Football Insider revealed that Arsenal planned to sign a “superstar” winger in January, but they were unable to get a deal over the line. As the club looks to strengthen their squad, they will be hoping to make some significant signings in the summer transfer window.

The future of Martinelli and Trossard is set to be a key area of focus for Arsenal in the coming weeks, with the club looking to build a strong squad for the upcoming season. With Football Insider providing exclusive updates on the club’s transfer plans, fans will be eagerly anticipating the arrival of new signings and the departure of players who are no longer part of Arteta’s plans.
