Billionaire Entrepreneur Bryan Johnson Claims He Could Live Forever
In a recent interview on The Louis Theroux Podcast, Bryan Johnson, a US billionaire and anti-ageing influencer, claimed that he could live forever provided artificial intelligence and medical technologies continue to develop at their current rapid pace. According to Men’s Health UK, Johnson spends around $2 million a year on various technologies to improve his life expectancy, implementing a strict dietary and lifestyle regimen in the pursuit of longevity.
Johnson’s anti-ageing programme, named Project Blueprint, has already shown promising results, with the 47-year-old claiming to have reversed his biological age. As reported by Men’s Health UK, Johnson’s health team measures every aspect of his body, including his nighttime erections, to inform opportunities for optimisation. "I’m 47 years old, if you look at the progress of artificial intelligence and medical technologies and biology, it is the most reasonable contemplation that we will solve ageing and regeneration in the time span I have," Johnson said. "So, let’s just say I’m going to live to 90 or a hundred something on that range without any further interventions. So that gives us 40 to 50 years. Let’s exclude accidental death as a cause, 40 to 50 years at current rates of progress. I don’t think there’s any reason I should die that technologically; we should be able to solve ageing in that timeframe."
Johnson’s claims are based on the rapid progress being made in medical technologies and artificial intelligence. As Men’s Health UK reported, Johnson believes that with the current rate of progress, it is reasonable to assume that ageing and regeneration will be solved within his lifetime. He added, "It’s noteworthy that at my current speed of aging, I already celebrate my birthday every 19 months, so my speed of ageing is 0.64. We’ve already meaningfully slowed down how fast I age or how slow I age, and so that’s just current technology and we’ve got some really innovative technologies on the horizon that could dramatically change that."
The Men’s Health UK article revealed that Johnson’s anti-ageing programme includes a range of technologies and interventions aimed at optimising his physical and mental health. According to Johnson, his programme has already shown significant results, with his biological age being reversed. The article also noted that Johnson’s health team monitors his body’s functions closely, including his nighttime erections, to identify areas for improvement.
Johnson’s views on ageing and longevity are not without controversy. While some experts agree that significant progress is being made in medical technologies and artificial intelligence, others are more sceptical about the possibility of living forever. Nevertheless, Johnson’s commitment to his anti-ageing programme and his claims about the potential for human longevity have sparked a lively debate about the possibilities of extending human lifespan.
As Men’s Health UK reported, Johnson’s anti-ageing programme is part of a broader trend of people seeking to extend their lifespan and improve their healthspan. With the rapid progress being made in medical technologies and artificial intelligence, it is likely that we will see significant advances in the field of longevity in the coming years. Whether Johnson’s claims about living forever are realised remains to be seen, but his commitment to pushing the boundaries of human longevity is undeniable.
