BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend Festival: Tickets Still Available for Opening Night

The highly anticipated BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend festival is set to take over Sefton Park in Liverpool from Friday, May 23 to Sunday, May 25. According to the Liverpool Echo, tickets are still available for purchase for the opening night, with a limited quantity of general admission tickets remaining for Friday’s show.

The festival, as reported by the Liverpool Echo, will feature an impressive lineup of artists, including The Wombats, Natasha Bedingfield, James Hype, Biffy Clyro, and Tom Grennan, who will be performing on the Radio 1 Main Stage on Friday. The event will also showcase dozens of other acts across the park on the New Music, Dance, and Introducing stages.

A general admission ticket, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo, costs £33, plus a £4.50 booking fee per ticket. Festival-goers can purchase a maximum of six tickets for a single day, but not for multiple days. VIP tickets are also available for £95, plus a £5.70 booking fee per ticket.

The Liverpool Echo has reported that preparations for the festival are well underway, with boards already in place around the park sectioning off the festival site. The stages are being built, and a huge Ferris wheel is also being erected. The event organisers have issued an important travel message to festival-goers, advising them to use public transport to get to the event, as there will be numerous road closures in and around the park.

"There is no parking for ticketholders at the event site, there will be numerous road closures in and around the park with access restricted to residents and businesses only," the statement read. The Liverpool Echo has also reported that artist performing across the bank holiday weekend include Sam Fender, Mumford & Sons, Tate McRae, Sugababes, Haim, JADE, AJ Tracey, Myles Smith, Wet Leg, Blossoms, Lola Young, and many more.
