Joe Perry Announces Summer Tour with All-Star Rock Lineup
Renowned guitarist Joe Perry, best known for his work with Aerosmith, has announced a string of summer shows in North America with his Joe Perry Project. The former Aerosmith guitarist will be performing alongside an all-star rock lineup, featuring a talented group of musicians.
According to an announcement made on May 6th via Instagram, Perry will be joined by guitarist Brad Whitford, keyboardist Buck Johnson, Stone Temple Pilots bassist Robert DeLeo, drummer Eric Kretz, and The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson on lead vocals. As reported by Far Out Magazine, Perry expressed his excitement about the new lineup, stating: "Well … it’s time to let the music do the talkin’ again. I’m really excited about the JPP line up this year!!!!"
The new lineup is not a surprise, as many of the band members have previously worked with Perry on his last solo album, Sweetzerland Manifesto. Perry revealed that most of the band members played with him at the Roxy in LA at the debut event for his latest solo album in January 2018. He added: "They’re all busy as hell but thankfully they’re able to carve out some time for this run."
The Joe Perry Project tour will feature a diverse set list, including Perry’s favourite JPP cuts, STP, Black Crowes, and Aerosmith hits, as well as some deep cuts. As Perry noted, "The set list is gonna include my fav JPP cuts, STP, Black Crowes, and with Brad we’ll be hitting the Aero hits and some deep cuts and then ya never know!!!! Gonna be a BLAST, and if you’ve ever been to one of my shows you know the words ‘GARAGE BAND on STEROIDS’ come to mind! See you there!!!!"
