Amanda Owen Furious: ‘Red Mist’ Erupts Over Ex’s Latest Stunt

Amanda Owen Opens Up About Working with Ex-Husband Clive and the Challenges of Filming Their Latest Series

Amanda Owen, the star of the popular Channel 4 show "Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive And Kids," has spoken candidly about the challenges of working with her ex-husband Clive and the realities of filming their latest series. In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mirror, Amanda, 50, revealed that she and Clive, 69, have a positive working relationship despite their divorce.

The couple, who were married for 22 years, first shot to fame when they appeared in the 2011 ITV documentary "The Dales." They went on to debut their own show "Our Yorkshire Farm" on Channel 5 in 2018. However, in 2022, Amanda and Clive announced the end of their marriage. Despite this, they continue to make TV shows together and co-parent their nine children.

Amanda, who is known for her sharp cheekbones and washboard abs, joked that her toned figure is down to "shovelling muck" and "stress." She revealed that she has a simple beauty routine, which includes using long-lasting make-up and moisturizer. "It takes me about five minutes to wash my face and slather some moisturizer," she said. "Then I put some mascara on, and I will use some irremovable lipstick too. I’ve discovered that certain brands actually don’t come off for about three days even if you have a bath or a shower. Even if I’m only going to see sheep, it makes me feel better."

The latest series of "Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive And Kids" follows the family’s joint efforts to renovate a derelict centuries-old stone barn called Anty Johns. Amanda explained that they are just getting the essentials done, such as a roof, windows, and a door. "We’re just getting the essentials like a roof, windows and a door," she said. "All the things that I suppose you don’t really ever think about. They’re not optional. So in a way, it is simple. And I’m limited because it’s a listed building, so there’s no option for any sort of glass ceilings or anything like that."

Amanda and Clive’s working relationship seems to be going smoothly, but Amanda admitted that they did nearly fall out while filming the new series. "Clive starts trying to tell me how to use the internet," she said. "That was definitely tear-jerking in a painful manner, in that mansplaining way. I definitely felt the tears coming – then the red mist!"

The show, which airs on Tuesday 29 April at 9pm on More4, follows the family’s farm life and their renovation project. Amanda said that the show is their best one yet, with lots of different adventures for the whole family. "You get to see the rough with the smooth on the farm," she laughed. "We aren’t The Waltons! You’ve got the scenery, you’ve got the children, you’ve got the animals… it’s got so many different elements all rolled into one."

Amanda also opened up about her children, who are frequently seen on the show enjoying the outdoors and helping on the farm. She insisted that her kids are no different to any others, despite their wholesome on-screen appearances. "They love nothing more than getting online," she said. "We live in quite judgmental times where you can’t do right for doing wrong. As a parent, it’s hard."

The show is a must-watch for fans of farm life and renovation projects. With its mix of scenery, children, and animals, it’s sure to be a hit with audiences. As Amanda said, "It’s like one of these home renovation projects, but Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen I ain’t! It’s got a Time Team archaeological element, and a historical Who Do You Think You Are? history element too. It’s a bit Countryfile and a bit The Osbournes!"
