Arcade Fire Announce North American Tour Dates for ‘Pink Elephant’ Album
Canadian rock band Arcade Fire have revealed the cities and dates for their upcoming North American tour, which will see them perform their new album ‘Pink Elephant’ in full ahead of its release on May 9. According to NME, the band will kick off the tour with two shows in Mexico City, followed by stops in New Orleans, Montreal, Brooklyn, and more.
The tour, which has been announced by NME as part of the promotional activities for the album, will feature live previews of ‘Pink Elephant’, the band’s seventh studio album. The album, which was previewed by the euphoric single ‘Year of the Snake’, marks a new direction for the band, exploring a “cinematic mystical punk” approach. As NME reports, the album spans 42 minutes and comprises 10 new songs, all of which were recorded at Win and Régine’s own Good News Recording Studio in New Orleans.
The tour dates, as listed by NME, are as follows:

The album ‘Pink Elephant’ is set to be the band’s first new album since allegations of sexual misconduct arose against frontman Win Butler. According to NME, four people came forward to accuse the singer of inappropriate behaviour, and the accusations also led to Feist leaving her tour early. Butler replied to the allegations in a lengthy statement of his own, claiming he was “very sorry to anyone who I have hurt with my behaviour” but maintaining that “these relationships were all consensual”.
As reported by NME, the single ‘Year of the Snake’ sees Régine Chassagne deliver soothing vocals and make her debut on the bass, while frontman Win Butler sits behind the drum kit for the first time with the band. The song is available to listen here, as noted by NME.
In other news, Arcade Fire have announced their only ‘Funeral’ 20th anniversary show for North America at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Fans can get tickets here, as reported by NME.
