Barga, "Fornaci senza frontiere" Kicks Off with a Bang
In a vibrant display of community spirit, the town of Barga recently played host to the launch of "Fornaci senza frontiere," a rioni-themed event that promises to bring excitement and friendly competition to the local residents. According to a report by Giornale di Barga, the event’s presentation took place in Piazza IV Novembre, where four teams, each representing a different rione, were introduced to the public.
The teams, donning their respective colours – white for Case Operaie, yellow for Caterozzo, red for Centro, and blue for Fornaci vecchia – were met with great enthusiasm from the crowd. As Giornale di Barga reports, the atmosphere was electric, with spectators showing their team spirit and good-natured banter filling the air.
The event, which is a revival of the popular "Rioni senza frontiere" games held in Fornaci back in the 1990s, promises to bring a fun and competitive vibe to the town. As noted by Giornale di Barga, the games will feature tournaments in calcetto and volley, with the semifinals scheduled to take place on June 9th and 11th.
During the presentation, the four team captains were introduced: Filippo Marroni for Fornaci Centro, Marco Bernardi for Case Operaie, Michele Guarino for Fornaci vecchia, and Gabriele Cecchini for Caterozzo. The teams were also treated to a rousing speech from Don Giovanni Cartoni, one of the event’s organisers, who wished them all the best for the competition.
As Giornale di Barga reports, the event also featured the unveiling of the "Cencio," a palio-style banner that will be awarded to the winning rione. The banner was designed by Federica Spagnolo, with the support of Roberta Toni.
The event’s organisers, including Paolo Capannacci and Marco Franci, were on hand to welcome the crowd and kick off the festivities. Giannetto Lucchesi, who has experience in organising similar events, also made an appearance, adding to the excitement and anticipation building around "Fornaci senza frontiere."
In the words of Giornale di Barga, the event’s launch was a resounding success, with a large and enthusiastic crowd in attendance. As the competition heats up in the coming days, it will be interesting to see which rione emerges victorious and claims the coveted "Cencio" banner.
The "Fornaci senza frontiere" event is a great example of community spirit and the power of friendly competition to bring people together. As reported by Giornale di Barga, the event promises to be an exciting and entertaining spectacle, and we look forward to seeing which team emerges victorious.
