BBC Breakfast Hosts Jon Kay and Sally Nugent Congratulate Colleague on Pregnancy News
In a heartwarming moment on live television, BBC Breakfast hosts Jon Kay and Sally Nugent took a moment to congratulate their colleague Michelle Ackerley on her pregnancy announcement. The Bristol Post reports that Michelle, who co-hosts Morning Live, shared her joyous news earlier in the week, revealing that she is four months pregnant with her first child.
According to eyewitnesses, Jon and Sally were presenting the latest national and international news on Wednesday, May 7, when they passed over to Michelle and Gethin Jones for a segment on Morning Live. As Michelle and Gethin finished their segment, Sally interjected with warm words, saying, “And Michelle, before we let you go, we have to say big congratulations from the Breakfast team!” A beaming Michelle responded, “Aww, thank you! Thanks, Sally and Jon. Geth’s going to be the coolest uncle, isn’t he?”
The Bristol Post understands that Michelle jestingly assigned soon-to-be “uncle” Gethin with future duties, mentioning, “Baby sitting, taking the baby out! You know it’s going to be amazing!” Gethin jovially answered, “I never agreed to any of this, but happy to support along the way!” Laughter filled the studio as Jon added his own well-wishes, commenting, “Lovely news, congratulations to you both!” He then playfully noted, “Oh, let’s not start any rumours!”
Michelle shared her good news on Morning Live earlier in the week, expressing her joy and gratitude. She said, “I know I still can’t quite believe it myself, really, very, very happy. It’s just come out slowly but surely. I am four months pregnant.” The celebrity, who is looking forward to the arrival of her first baby with husband Ben Ryan, took to Instagram to share the joyous update with her followers.
In a moving post, Michelle penned: “I wanted to share, though, as my journey with endometriosis and infertility is something I finally felt confident to start speaking about more openly last year – realising how many other women were going through similar experiences. Feeling part of a community – especially when it comes to women’s health – can really make a difference. Even at the very start of this year, I was gearing up for yet another endo procedure and trying to come to terms with the mental and physical impact they can have. It has been quite the emotional rollercoaster. The news of falling pregnant really came as a massive surprise to both of us. We still can’t quite believe it.”
The Bristol Post reports that BBC Breakfast is broadcast every day on BBC One from 6 am. Fans of the show can tune in to catch the latest news and updates from the world of entertainment, sports, and current events.
As the news of Michelle’s pregnancy continues to spread, fans and colleagues alike are sending their congratulations and well-wishes to the happy couple. The Bristol Post wishes Michelle and Ben all the best as they prepare for the arrival of their baby.
