FX Unveils Release Dates for "The Bear" Season 4, "Alien: Earth" and "The Lowdown"
In a recent announcement, FX has revealed the release dates for several highly anticipated series, including Season 4 of the Emmy-winning culinary dramedy "The Bear", Noah Hawley’s "Alien: Earth", and the drama series "The Lowdown" starring Ethan Hawke. According to a report from Variety, the new seasons will be available on various platforms, including Hulu, FX, and Disney+.
"The Bear" Season 4 to Premiere on June 25
Season 4 of "The Bear" will hit Hulu on June 25, with all 10 episodes available at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET. Internationally, the season will also be available on Disney+ at the same time. The previous season, Season 3, dropped on Hulu on June 26, 2024, and followed Jeremy Allen White’s character Carmy Berzatto as he reopened his restaurant The Beef into the fine dining establishment The Bear. As noted by Variety, the show’s cast includes Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Abby Elliott, and Matty Matheson, among others.
The show’s creator, Christopher Storer, serves as executive producer alongside Josh Senior, Joanna Calo, Cooper Wehde, Tyson Bidner, Matheson, Hiro Murai, and Rene Gube. "The Bear" is produced by FX Productions. As Variety reports, the past two seasons have featured an A-list cadre of cameo stars, including Jon Bernthal, Jamie Lee Curtis, Will Poulter, Olivia Colman, Sarah Paulson, Bob Odenkirk, John Mulaney, John Cena, and Josh Hartnett.
"Alien: Earth" to Premiere on August 12
The first two episodes of "Alien: Earth", based on the iconic sci-fi film franchise, will be available on August 12 on Hulu at 8 p.m. ET and on FX and Disney+ internationally at 8 p.m. PT/ET. New episodes of the eight-episode season will debut each following Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on Hulu and 8 p.m. PT/ET on FX. According to Variety, the official logline for "Alien: Earth" reads, "When the mysterious deep space research vessel USCSS Maginot crash-lands on Earth, Wendy (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat."
The cast of "Alien: Earth" includes Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, Adrian Edmondson, David Rysdahl, Essie Davis, Lily Newmark, Erana James, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Kit Young, Diêm Camille, Moe Bar-El, and Sandra Yi Sencindiver. As reported by Variety, executive producers include Hawley, Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker, Joseph Iberti, Dana Gonzales, and Clayton Krueger.
"The Lowdown" to Premiere on September 23
"The Lowdown" will premiere with a double-episode debut on September 23 at 9 p.m. PT/ET on FX. New episodes of the 8-episode noir will air every following Tuesday at 9 p.m. PT/ET and will be available the next day to stream on Hulu. According to Variety, the series follows "the gritty exploits of citizen journalist ‘Lee Raybon’ (Hawke), a self-proclaimed Tulsa ‘truthstorian’ whose obsession with the truth is always getting him into trouble."
The cast of "The Lowdown" includes Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kaniehtiio Horn, Tim Blake Nelson, Jeanne Tripplehorn, and Kyle MacLachlan. As noted by Variety, series creator Sterlin Harjo, who also wrote and directed the pilot, serves as executive producer alongside Ethan Hawke and Ryan Hawke. "The Lowdown" is produced by FX Productions. With these new releases, FX is set to deliver an exciting lineup of original content in the coming months.
