Beyoncé Fans Stunned as Cowboy Carter Tour Shows Surprising Availability

Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour Falters as Thousands of Tickets Remain Unsold

The highly anticipated Cowboy Carter Tour, helmed by music icon Beyoncé, is facing a lukewarm response from concertgoers, with thousands of tickets still unsold just days before the tour’s commencement. According to Ticketmaster, the official ticketing website for the tour, several shows have considerable numbers of unsold seats, contradicting earlier claims of overwhelming demand.

The tour’s opening night on April 28 in Los Angeles, for instance, still has over 3,200 unsold seats, with standard tickets available from $85 and resale tickets on the site from just $35. Sales have been even slower for the final two nights in the West Coast city, with over 3,800 standard tickets still available for each show. On the East Coast, the tour’s last night in New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, which was added as an extra date due to supposed demand, still has over 5,500 tickets unsold.

In an interview with Billboard, Live Nation executive vice president, told the publication that 94% of tickets for the Cowboy Carter Tour have been sold. However, The Independent can reveal that this figure may be misleading, with many tickets still available for several shows. The Atlanta show on July 14, for example, has in excess of 5,800 tickets, including over 50% of floor seats, still available.

“It’s surprising that there are still so many tickets available for the tour, especially given the hype surrounding Beyoncé’s previous tour,” said a source close to the music industry. “It’s possible that the high ticket prices and limited availability of floor seats may have deterred some fans from purchasing tickets.”

When Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour first went on sale in February, demand was extremely high, with fans quickly snatching up whatever tickets they could get. Many fans were still reeling from their experiences trying to get tickets for her sold-out Renaissance World Tour in 2023, which moved over 2.7 million tickets but left many fans unable to secure a seat.

However, those lucky fans who managed to get their hands on tickets during the presale period have expressed frustration and anger on social media, claiming they paid extortionate prices for tickets near the back of huge stadium venues, only to see better-placed seats become available at significantly cheaper rates.

“Next time Beyoncé sends me a presale code for a tour, I’m ignoring it,” wrote TheYoncéHub, a fan account with 15k followers on X/Twitter. “The way floor seats are way cheaper than stand seats I bought and [Ticketmaster] won’t let me exchange.”

The drop in ticket prices has been particularly galling for fans who feel they have been left out of pocket. According to Billboard‘s projections, even apparently slow ticket sales and falling prices will only have a minimal impact on Beyoncé’s bottom line, with the singer predicted to earn in excess of $325 million from the tour, around $10.15 million per show.

As reported by The Independent, ticket prices have dropped dramatically since the initial onsale, with many fans taking to social media to express their frustration and disappointment.

The Independent has approached Beyoncé for comment, but her team had not responded by publication time.

Beyoncé’s team has not commented on the slow ticket sales, but it remains to be seen how the tour will perform in the coming weeks. One thing is certain, however: the Cowboy Carter Tour has got off to a rocky start.
